The building is beautiful and the location is good
The hotel advertised an “exceptional breakfast” which we book and paid for. On the first morning we asked where breakfast was served and the staff looked at us as if we were mad and said there was no breakfast offered. They just shrugged and told us to go into town to find somewhere to eat. The room was very basic. There was a power cut the first night and on our final day there was no hot water. No explanation or apology given. No help was offered in getting a taxi to the airport at the end despite claiming an airport transport option.
Het uitzicht.
Wegens personeelstekort ging niet alles zoals het zou moeten gaan.
Locatie, personeel als faciliteiten waren perfect.
Niets
Not only is this historic property stunning and have the most epic views of the Mesopotamian planes and stars at night but the staff are all so friendly and warm and really make the stay perfect. This is one of the nicest places I’ve ever been to and I’m so grateful for the time spent.
Everything was nice. We enjoyed our 4 days here.
Room that we got at the beginning was cold, but they changed our room and it was much better and bigger also.
We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay in Mardin! The hotel boasts an incredible view, and the building itself is an antique house with a fascinating history. It has been beautifully restored, preserving its charm while adding modern comforts. The atmosphere is magical, whether during the day or at night.
Our room was enormous, as was the bathroom (family of 4). The beds were incredibly comfortable, and everything was spotlessly clean.
What we appreciated the most was the outstanding hospitality of all the staff, kind, helpful, and genuinely friendly. Huseyn welcomed us with a warm smile that never faded, while Mesut, one of the owner and a fantastic art historian, became the perfect host. He arranged a private tour of the city and ensured our stay was exceptional.
We highly recommend this hotel, it truly makes guests feel at home!
nothing, everything was good!
The hotel is far you must go by stairs to the hotel reception and to the rooms
the breakfast was good and was served on the terrace with an incredible view! a perfect start to the day
It was a wonderful stay in an incredible old building, which might not suit someone who loves a modern hotel. I'd argue the old rooms made the hotel even more wonderful
Amazing location with fabulous terrace with fantastic views - we loved our stay. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was very nice and unique.
Nothing
Beautiful hotel at a fantastic location
Bed too hard, rooms on the small side, no place to sit, bathroom very cold, no way of heating, breakfast outside in the yard under roof, but 2 degrees celsius, so not the most comfortable mornings.
Fabulous historic city, vibrant, welcoming and warm.
This hotel was cosy and unique. It definately gave the Mardin vibes you needed! The view from the rooftop terrace was the best part for me. The rooms are decent and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and Mardin has the best Cay! Host was kind enough let us select our rooms. I was pleasantly surprised by the door key and iron bar securing the door from the inside. Takes one back to the past! Location is great and near old Mardin shops and restaurants.
We had 2 rooms. The cups in the room we got were unwashed and the flask had leftover water and not cleaned. Had to get the staff to change it. The toilet flush was not working, which was frustrating at first since after a long journey. But it was promptly attended to. 2nd room's toilet was at the basement. So there's a stairway leading to it. Interesting but can be scary for families with young kids or scardy cats! Lights are also very dim, but I think this is just the character of cave or stone hotels.
The part that no one mentioned is, this hotel does not have a direct access from car to lobby. We had to drag our heavy luggages through the several steps from the main road to the hotel. Took us about 10-15mins. It's crazier when you're climbing up with the luggages. So the hotel is better for those without huge luggages and have good arm and leg power.
One of the best place we have ever stayed at.
This place has been recently restored, and it has been well done.
We strongly recommend this place.
People were amazing, and it is very well located in the old Mardin.
We will chose this place again if we visit again Mardin.
Totally unique.
Unlike anywhere else I had stayed before.
Beautiful, lovingly restored historical building full of beautiful details in every corner. The upper terrace boasts views across the plains of Mesopotamia and downstairs there is a cosy shaded courtyard in the lobby area. A really atmospheric and tranquil place for breakfast.
We spent 4 nights here and would definitely return in a heartbeat.
All of the staff were friendly and helpful, we really felt at home and gave us an unforgettable experience.
Well maintained historic building in the heart of Mardin. Nice view at night from the terras with friendly staff. Definitely worth it if you like the authentic feel.
Location of the property and kind staff members who make you feel like you're at home
