Birding Cottage Tangkoko

A wonderful place to stay in Tangkoko. Great Bungalows, excellent food and a lovely spot to watch birds from your own balcony. The birding cottage guides are very knowledgeable and expert at spotting the many beautiful endemic species in the park and its surrounding areas. We really appreciated all their efforts to make our stay memorable !!

We LOVED staying here. The cottages are spacious, clean and the shower is great. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the stream was also very nice.
But even if the cottages are wonderful, what made our stay unforgettable were the people who run the place. We had great meals and three great tours around the park with a very knowledgeable guide. What felt really important to us is that the people at Birding Cottages know so much about the animals and treat the environment with respect and care. Thank you for two amazing days! We hope to stay with you again in the future.

A good location, cozy and tidy cottages. Eco-friendly place, you can refill your own water bottle. Excellent home-cooked asian food. The host is a true bird expert, very friendly fellow, who kindly takes care of you. The staff is also super friendly and make you feel wellcome and comfortable. Excellent guiding in birding and other wildlife. We highly recommend the place.

The cottage is 15 minutes walk from the black beach. Great breakfast and lunch/dinner with typical food and local products.

De fantastische maaltijden en de enorm vriendelijke ontvangst.

Fantastisch verblijf! De familie is ontzettend lief, spreken goed Engels en hebben ons super begeleid tijdens wandelingen in de jungle van Tangkoko National Park (Avond en ochtendwandeling). De lodges zijn comfortabel en superschoon en de gemeenschappelijke ruimte is heerlijk! Zeker als het regent zit je droog in de buitenlucht te eten en kijk je toch uit op het prachtige bos tijdens de regengeluiden. Het eten was echt heerlijk, en er werd volledig rekening gehouden met dieetwensen. Daarnaast gaf ik aan een keer een goede ayam ricah ricah te willen eten. Tijdens het avondeten stond het ineens voor onze neus. En wat was dit lekker. 10/10!!

This is hands down one of the BEST accommodations I’ve ever stayed at during my travels — I can’t recommend it enough! The property is a stunning standalone villa, with beautiful surroundings that make you feel instantly relaxed and immersed in nature.

What truly blew me away was the food provided by the hosts — it’s incredibly abundant, delicious, and full of local flavors. Every meal was a delightful surprise, prepared with so much care and attention to detail that it felt like dining at a top-notch restaurant.

Equally impressive is the guesthouse’s guide! He is extremely attentive, responsible, and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to take me to spot all kinds of amazing local animals, ensuring I didn’t miss a single highlight. His professionalism and friendliness made the experience even more memorable.

This stay was an absolute delight and a wonderful surprise — worth every penny! If you’re visiting the area, do yourself a favor and book this accommodation. You won’t regret it!

Location for the forest, tasty food, lovely people.

Ardy und seine Familie waren super nett und hilfsbereit. Das Essen war extrem lecker und sehr reichhaltig.
Der Bungalow hatte sogar Air condition und die Dusche war bisher die beste auf unserer Rundreise, warm und ein ordentlicher Strahl.
Auch großen Dank an Stefen, unserem Guide im Nationalpark. Er hat uns,mit großem Engagement und viel Geduld, alle interessierten Tiere gezeigt. Toll war sein Miniteleskop, wo er unser Handy eingespannt und so tolle Fotos gemacht hat.
Wir würden immer wieder hier übernachten!

Alle Mahlzeiten waren sehr gut und ausreichend. Alle waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Kann ich gerne weiter empfehlen.

Ik had de vele positieve reviews gelezen en het was niets overdreven. Lekker overvloedig eten. Warm onthaal bij de familie. Op een wandelingafstand van het visserdorp en supermarktje. De bungalows geven uit op een riviertje en bos.
Grote vogels en natuurkenners. Ze doen er alles aan om je verblijf zo comfortable mogelijk te maken.
Goed geregelde tochten in het Tangkoko park. Een ochtend en avondwandeling gedaan. Super en zeer toegankelijk.

Location is fantastic to visit Tangkoko forest. They provided transportation and guides for morning and evening excursions.

This property is in an excellent location very close to the National Park. It was spotlessly clean and the owners and staff were super friendly and efficient. Everything was very easy. The dinner and breakfast were both really tasty. I would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed the relaxing athmosphere.The owner and his family makes you feel welcome and well taken care of. They organise jungle tours at good prices and with great guides! The rooms are really nice , clean and comfortable ,as the resort is pretty new.We loved every moment spent here, thank you!

Die Unterkunft hat totale Ruhe verbreitet, was sehr angenehm für uns war. Die Leute dort waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Direkt über die Unterkunft konnte man Touren für den Tangkoko Nationalpark buchen. Der Tourguide war sehr bemüht, uns alle möglichen Tiere des Dschungels zu zeigen.

L'accueil et les conseils du personnel et des propriétaires. Tout le monde est gentil et aux petits soins pour les hôtes.
Ils organisent les transports et les sorties dans la jungle.
Les prix sont raisonnables.
La cuisine sur place est délicieuse
Le bungalow est très bien placé face à la jungle et très confortable
Endroit calme et un peu en retrait par rapport aux autres lodges mais reste à proximité de la plage à pied d'où l'on peut voir les singes noirs et du village. N'hésitez pas à vous promener dans tout le village les gens sont extraordinaires. Ne restez pas juste dans les endroits touristiques.
Nous reviendrons au Sulawesi c'est certain !
