Excellent base camp in the barn!
Pros:

The owners were clearly incredibly thoughtful in constructing the rooms in the "barn." Dimmable lights, a skylight which opened and which had a retractable shade, cute pillow on the bed to make it homey... the common room & kitchen were beautiful, the sauna was EXCELLENT with a cold outdoor shower next to it, and there was a treehouse!? Wonderful facility.

Other guests seemed mostly to be quiet travelers, other than a large group of (fairly loud) men on Saturday night who I speculate were heading on an organized expedition in the morning.

Breakfast was great. Nothing too heavy (nothing hot except toast) but a lot of nutritious options, including the classic Brunost and small tinned fish which was fun to try. coffee & tea as well as milk/juice were available.

I booked a Standard Double room. Would have been cramped with 2 people and their stuff, but the pictures were accurate, so no surprises there, and it was great for one person (see pictures)

Regarding shared bathrooms: I appreciated that there were two stalls upstairs near the bedrooms as well as the 4 stalls downstairs by the bar/breakfast/outdoor facilities. Comfortable, clean showers including soap, conditioner & shampoo.

Cons:

My ONLY ask is for hooks to be added to the downstairs toilet rooms, and perhaps for there to be a lower shelf in the bedrooms- there were two nice shelves but they seemed too high for me (5'8") to use.
And just a warning- on Saturday night, music played from the speaker outside my room a little late- not crazy loud, but probably until roughly the 11pm quiet-hour cut-off time. Things were quiet thereafter.

Spennende bygg fra 1903. Her er det mye historie i veggene. Utrolig trivelig personale. Knallbra service. Anbefaler absolutt ett besøk her. Vi kommer tilbake.

Pros:

Lodgen Stryn has a cool atmosphere and corresponding decor.
Very nice outdoor area with seating and sauna/hot tub. Nice shared kitchen and enough spaces to share for eating and relaxing.
Great that we could do laundry, super practical in between hiking days!

Cons:

Breakfast was disappointing, could be improved.
The bedroom could benefit a mirror and more hooks to hang jackets etc.

Very cosy place and good sized rooms. A good place to stay if you're doing day-trips to other places close by.

Cons:

Floor and bathroom had unfortunately not been cleaned properly, but nothing too bad that we couldn't clean ourselves.
