Loved the hotel, pool, and facilities. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. We were able to enjoy the pool prior to checking in and given a list of recommendations of places to visit.

La atención del personal en general. Y especialmente del restaurante. Tienen un camarero por la tarde, creo que se llama Esteban que te hace sentir genial. Está atento en todo momento a tus necesidades. Hace que los clientes nos sintamos incluso cuidados.
Por poner algo igual el baño es un poco pequeño para tres personas que nos alojamos. Igual pondría espejos fuera para que la gente se fuera arreglando ahí
Super tolle Anlage, alles sehr gepflegt, tolles Restaurant (preise mit tax inklusive), die Pools (heisse und kalte) sind top. Walking Distance zum Fluss und mit dem Auto nah an allen Highlights.
Das Zimmer dass wir zuerst bekommen haben, war sehr simpel und dunkel, wollten aufgrund von unserem Sohn ein anderes Zimmer. Haben eins bekommen, sollten aber Aufpreis zahlen. Hier hätten wir uns mehr entgegenkommen gewünscht, ohne Aufpreis.

The property was well located, close to La Fortuna centre and convenient for getting into town. The jacuzzi area was very nice and Esteban in particular was always very helpful, kind and dedicated, looking out for the needs of the guests. The highlight for me was to see toucans in the trees near the property in the morning and in the evening.
The rooms are quite basic, but still comfortable and quite reasonable given the price paid. The shower in my room was pretty bad; only one handle in the tab worked so we couldn’t adjust the water temperature, which meant the water was always cold. The shower head was in desperate need of replacement, it looked very old and a weird cable (which looked like an electricity cable) run alongside it. I had friends staying at an apartment upstairs and I ended up showering at their place every night. For the same price, they got a much better unit with a bigger and better shower, a kitchenette area and two bedrooms. Something else to keep in mind is that Hotel Orquideas have some units with two bedrooms (able to accommodate 4 people), but somehow they can only be booked and are advertised as 2 people units on Booking. I travelled with 3 other friends and one unit would have been perfect for us, but we ended up paying for 2 units unnecessarily.
Besides these, what marred my experience in Orquideas was the fact that they had birds in cages. I am a birdwatcher and part of the reason why I visited Costa Rica was to see birds in the wild. In a country with so much wildlife and so rich in birds, I don’t understand how places such as these need to cage birds. For me this was a real turn off and the main reason why I would not return to Orquideas for future stays. If you’re sensitive about this too, I recommend you look for other places around.
Gute Lage, um den Vulkan Arenal zu besichtigen. Sehr schöne Anlage. Zimmer zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber insgesamt sehr sauber. Personal war super nett und der Kellner hat uns ungefragt einige Tipps rund um La Fortuna gegeben. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Amazing grounds. So well designed and maintained. We asked for an extra sleeping area and we got one as the apt had two doubles. Pools were gorgeous, surrounded by birds in the trees...some toucans even came to visit one day. We ate several times in the restaurant and it was brilliant. They made us a takeaway breakfast a couple of times as well which was very kind. The hotel was walking distance to El Salto. All the team working there were so friendly and kind.
Nothing, we would return.

La Ubicación no es la mejor, estás a 30 minutos de los principales atractivos de la zona que son las Termales como Kalambú, Baldí, la laguna del Arenal, etc. Hace falta un microondas.
