SUPER CLEAN BUT HIDDEN CHARGES
Pros:

The sporting lodge and hotel is very clean and personel friendly .....................................................................

BUT A 16% CHARGE ON YOUR CREDIT CARD BILL is unacceptable! And with the tip added AFTER the 16% charge was also very poor form.

Be aware and ask the hotel before you book what the Extra Charges will be!

It was the first place we stayed in town and It was very unfortunate and sad to latterly be told by the other Punta Allen hoteliers, restauranteurs and barmen we were massively overcharged– 5% is the norm !

We thought we had had such a great experience at Casa Pascale until the 16% bill surplus plus tip on top experience was revealed as rudely excessive!

After Punta Allen we saw Pascale in Puerto Morelos but descided not to speak about the 16% charge especially when she was supposedly in Oaxaca.

Cons:

The scandalous 16% SERVICE CHAGE ON CREDIT CARDS! It wasn't till later we found the normal charge in Punta Allen was no more than 5%!

Some hotels/lodges/bars charge nothing at all for using cards.

Worth the rugged road trip
Pros:

This is fairly remote and is reached on a 40 km extremely potholed road. So be prepared. The scenery is beautiful. The village of Punta Allen is rustic. Casa Pascale is mostly for sport fishermen but we weren't and enjoyed our time there. It's impeccably clean, the bed was comfortable. There was a good shower. There are beautiful wall paintings of various fish. It's a place with character.

Cons:

We liked all of Casa Pascale. There's a lovely open air seating area under a thatched roof. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit, an egg dish, sometimes pancakes, sometimes toast.

Place where you can come out the comfort zone and enjoy your life in different pace.
Pros:

Cosy heaven for flyfisherman and any other who is attracted in fishing. Our host Pascale did all possible to make us feel like at home and it felt like having grandmother pampering you at any step. Guide Juanito teached me in one day more than I have learned before regarding saltwater flyfishing. Place where to return.

wonderful, non tourist, peaceful, unspoilt remote area of Mexico.
Pros:

Breakfast was amazing, everything you require to start the day. Great choice, fresh everyday.
Ticked all the boxes for a fishingpersons lodge, even catered for non-fishing partners. Great host and attentive, helpful staff.

Cons:

Not applicable - everything was great. Oh! apart from the final road to Punta Allen - I mean dirt track with huge pot holes (2 hours of what we called "road from hell") but it is through the Eco/rain forest area which remains unspoilt.
