Loved the olde world feel .An experience not to be missed
Very disappointed the way this heritage building is kept. Its needs a good clean, carpets were filthy.
The staff were polite and welcoming. The food was good.
The view we had was awlful! Litter on the street and a wall in front.
Schöner alter Club im britischen „old colonial style“, sehr hilfsbereites und freundliches Personal, bewachter Parkplatz
The history of the Club
Very tatty and neglected
Lots of things were broken or did not work
Shower did not work in the room Water pressure very low Decoration awful and neglected
Service was always slow but with a smile Definitely understaffed
A classic "Old Lady" steeped in history. Rooms were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Cindy.
It is an old establishment, and does require a bit of maintenance. It is located in the centre of town, so may be a bit noisy. We were initially given street front rooms, but were later moved to inner rooms on the recommendation of the staff, due to the expected Saturday night noise!
Secure car park
Friendly staff
no shower in the room only a bath
No safe available.
The history is exceptional. The building is beautiful. It’s a time capsule. The staff was very friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable on the history of the club. Stayed in the Rhodes room which made it so much more interesting. This club and its history has to be preserved. It’s special.
The area that the club is in has gone down. Typically what many CBD’s have become in SA cities and towns. This obviously totally out of the control of the club and down to local government. I really hope that the area can get an uplift somehow in the future, a bit of a dream, but one remains hopeful.
Love the old world charm and lovely food and wonderful staff.
It is a pity that the area is extremely bad.
I will unfortunately never go back.
Authenticity, History, sense of quality of the yesteryears
Filth in the streets and party noise till early hours!!
I enjoyed the historical paintings, photos, maps best. What a jewel!
Staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable.
Nothing to complain about.
