Absolutely filthy.
Location within walking distance into Peterborough. Secure car parking, comfortable room with all necessary facilities. Friendly welcome even though we were early.

A bit pricey for some short nights of sleep. A bit of a dirty shower on arrival. A bit noisy during the night. The doors bang noisily, both on my floor and underneath. This is something the hotel management could easily sort out with plush on the door frames if the will was there. There was some work maintenance going on in my room and in one corridor, unfinished work by wall inside next to my door, holes in the wall, door which is smaller than the frame in the upper side.
Reception area looked liked something from the 70s. Everything was tired and dated and reassembled a doss house
I was very kindly given a bottle from behind the bar by the member of staff Wwhich was a welcome gesture
My room was more positive contrast to rest of hotel and looked to have been redecorated recently. It was an improvement however upon closer inspection had been done on the cheap as certain things looked unfinished e.g. bathroom sliding door runners were open and above the cistern was cracked and damaged all ready. Aircon didn't work but a small fridge in room was welcome though I didn’t use it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, and I had a decent night’s sleep. It had all the basics. We were told when we arrived there was no heating but we were given portable should we need them. My room, however, was a perfect temperature without the additional heating. It was also convenient fir the conference centre where we were attending a conference and it had all the secure car park behind yhe property.
The property was in a state of refurbishment so there was no lounge and everywhere was a bit shabby. Everywhere, including my room, could do with redecoration. My wallpaper was peeling/ripped off the wall in places, and my shower slightly broken although it did work, just. I think if we’d been informed of the building works in advance we would have been prepared. I have no doubt that once refurbishment is complete it will meet or exceed its two star status.

I was told there was no heating the first day staying there. Flies and spiders in the bathroom. It was noisy as I was trying to sleep...other guests walking and talking throughout the corridors. Smoking everywhere...it wasn't the best place to bo honest.
Great wee hotel for stopping by on a long journey. Shower was great and bed was comfortable. Private, locked parking and self check in was really helpful as we arrived late. Staff were very accommodating and provided all information we could have needed! Tea and coffee also provided.

The parking closes early so you are facing not being able to park despite it being advertised as available. The hotel is also often unstaffed with the front door locked. I was unable to gain access to my room or checkout as the front entrance was still locked at 8am and nobody picked up the phone when I called so I waited until a fellow patron saw my and let me in
