Little off the track
Great time at mt fuji.

Le onsen privé et gratuit est super. La chambre est très belle. Fauteuil massant gratuit.
Breakfast was delicious! The staff was great, helpful, and kind. The onsen (with sauna) was incredibly hot and beautiful and the booking system for it was very clear and made it wonderful and private. We really felt at peace. The area was beyond gorgeous. We biked around the lake, ate amazing food, and it was definitely one of the best things we did in Japan. Also, we loved the robes given, which really made you feel like you weren't at a normal hotel. Alongside the traditional elements, it was just such a treat to stay in such an amazing authentic-feeling place.
Honestly, nothing comes to mind. There were some negative reviews about age but that was part of the charm- to stay in a room with tatami mats and traditional walls and decor. Also, you have a Western-style bed, breakfast, TV, and very modern bathroom and shower, so I'm not sure what people were looking for that wasn't already there. We loved every bit of this and had absolutely nothing to complain about.
It is a bit far from the living world but there is a bus stop nearby and you can get to Kawaguchiko in a hour. But I loved that you were surrounded by nature. We saw wild deers and a badger just outside the hotel. Very nice and helpful staff speaking Japanese, English, Filipino, Chinese. All speak English and the owner is a kind person interested in your experiences.
It’s a bit far from the living world. But that is really the only downside. If you like seclusion like myself perfect spot.
• Location: Lovely - it was very quiet and peaceful but still close to everything especially Lake Yamanaka.
• Overall feel: The hotel is small and quiet, and has a nice classic unique charm.
• Room and comfort: The bed and pillows were quite firm but ok. The room was very spacious with the main sleeping area, and a sitting area able to be screened off. The bathroom (shower, toilet, basin) were all separate.
• Facilities: Having access to the private bath/sauna was great - we only wish it was available in the mornings as well. We also enjoyed the convenience of parking and the breakfast (which was included in our booking).
• Staff: The staff, especially the one that greeted us (sorry I cannot recall his name) was so helpful and eager to recommend options to make our stay enjoyable.
• No views: We booked a Deluxe Double Room which states on the website "panoramic view over the mountain or Lake Yamanaka" and on Booking.com states to have 'Mountain Views'. This was not the case at all, our view was of the carpark and close-by trees which was a bit disappointing.
• Photo representation: Unfortunately I would say the photos and description on the website give a bit of a different impression than reality. The photos suggest bright and fresh rooms, while our rooms were actually a bit dingy and old-feeling. It's not a problem overall, but first impressions didn't quite match expectations.
• Onsen availability: There are 2 private onsen - one of them is much nicer and natural looking, which we accessed the first night. Unfortunately, on the second night only the other one was available and the sauna was out of order so the experience was a bit less enjoyable. It was also a shame that the onsen were only available in the evening - we would have appreciated to access it in the morning before breakfast as well.
•Accessibility: Lastly, there is no elevator so rooms on the second floor are only accessible by a winding staircase. Not a major issue for us, but was challenging with luggage and wearing slippers (no shoes worn in the hotel). So if there are accessibility requirements, this should be kept in mind. Saying that, the staff offered to assist with taking our bags up to our room when we arrived.
Great location and really friendly staff.
No washing machines, and slightly pricey compared to other hotels we have stayed in.
It has a private Onsen that can be booked and it is surrounded by nature, we even got to see deers right there in the parking lot.
We stayed in the Japanese style room, bed was not comfortable, and the indoor shoes provided come in one size, I'm a size 45Eu, this was not comfortable for me at all.
La gentillesse du personnel
Pas de restauration le soir
Décoration désuète
Onsen vétuste et limite en terme de propreté… bain trop chaud

Hôtel qui a du avoir son heure de gloire mais qui maintenant plus au niveau
We absolutely loved our stay at Sansui Resorts Yamanakako. The hotel has an old-fashioned charm that made it feel really cosy and relaxing, and it suited the beautiful area perfectly.
The staff were all lovely, but a special mention has to go to Hou, who was incredibly friendly and gave us so many great recommendations for places to visit and things to do nearby. He really made our stay extra special.
Breakfast each morning was very good with plenty of choice, and the private onsen was honestly incredible — such a peaceful and memorable experience.
If you’re visiting the Yamanakako area and want somewhere charming, welcoming, and relaxing to stay, we would definitely recommend this hotel.
Friendly and very helpful staff who answered all our questions with kindness. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very relaxing. A big plus was the onsen, which made the stay even better. The resort is a little outside but that also makes it very peaceful and quiet. Overall, a great place to stay!
