Nice tidy house in quiet location
tv downstairs had issues with wifi that meant was unable to use the whole time which wasn’t great given we had children . Suggested fixes didn’t work
Cozy but the stairs were too high hard to bring the luggages we had brought for the trip
Other than the stairs nothing else
We were very lucky to find this wonderful place at the last minute. The check-in process was super smooth, and the house was spotless from the moment we stepped inside. It has a generous kitchen and dining area, along with both air conditioning and a heater. The ventilation is excellent, with large windows and a small patio that was very convenient for drying clothes. It truly felt like a cozy home.
The host was incredibly helpful and kind, which made our stay even more pleasant.
The location is also great — it’s within walking distance to Higashiyama Temple (about 15 minutes). We absolutely loved our stay at Sakuragawa-an and hope to come back again in the future.
It’s not my concern but if the staircase leading to the room is a bit steep and narrow which may be inconvenient to some people. Anyway, the room is excellent and we had a very happy stay there.
The place was super peaceful. It was big enough for 2 and 3 adults. The place was spotless clean. Close enough to a bus stop and quite a few shops about 5 min walking. It had basic necessities, tea, suger (you will understand this if you stay), washing machine powder, and there is also a luup right outside (bike rental electric). The bedroom area is tatami which is super nice
I can see how this might be a tight space for 4 people. The futons could be changed as they seemed a bit thin. We were 2 adults and used all 4 futons
Wonderful apartment, very quiet, clean and comfortable, in a great location. Well equipped and exactly as described. Host was great at communicating and directions and check-in were easy
The beds are not that comfortable and we found some hairs on our bedsheets. Additonally, the owners came into the apartment during our stay to get some Futons without informing us at all. We just found out because the additinal Futon was missing. The internet did not work properly.

Nice location on a charming quiet street near all the shrines; clean apartment and responsive host.
a bit smaller than expected and futon beds are not thick enough for a comfortable sleep.
Location very nice and convenient to the Four Seasons and the Ninezaka, wonderful little coffee shop around the corner as well as a plentitude of shrines and temples within a couple blocks. Highly recommend the Kissa Kishin Kyoto for breakfast, and Silver Backs' Cafe for lunch or dinner.
The location was within a quiet neighborhood and walking distance from Shichijo and Kyoto Station. There were also restaurants and convenience stores within the area.
It felt like a very authentic experience.
