Due to unforeseen circumstances I tried to cancel but there is NO cancelation for any reason

There were many glaring deficiencies for a room that cost $160.00 taxes in: no mirror in the room; no facecloth; no top sheet on the bed; no tissues; nothing to put luggage on; desk lamp didn’t work; no drinking cup; no television; no clock; nothing to sit on - the one small folding chair was used to hold small suitcase; no night stand - my eyeglasses and toiletries bag were on the floor; bathroom shared with homeowners, not other guests, making you feel like an intruder in their space; minimal parking space - had there been other guests, someone would have had to park on the street, something prohibited when a snowstorm is pending.

This was one of the most unsettling and unprofessional stays I’ve ever had, and it highlights the risks of choosing a cramped space with intrusive hosts. From the very beginning they pressured me to rebook, lingered in the living room watching me come out of the bathroom to chase conversations, and the host’s husband even shook my hand at the door and said, “see you again,” only for me to later discover he had stolen my expensive weight-loss medication, SD cards, headphones, and charging station. Most disturbing, my $600 prescription medication was discarded without my consent, and even now my belongings — receipts, SD cards, and electronics — have not been returned. The hosts refused to answer calls while still contacting me, acted vindictively when I declined their push to book the basement, and when booking.com reached out, they simply threw my things in front of their door rather than returning them properly. What appeared friendly on the surface was manipulative, dishonest, and invasive underneath. If you value your privacy, safety, and personal property, I strongly advise keeping your distance.

Bed was loud and squeaky and kept guest awake.

We didn't realize this was in someone's house and we were a few steps down from the kitchen. There were other guests in other rooms. Everyone was nice, but just surprised compared to our expectations.

No door or curtain between upstairs and downstairs.

Shared kitchen which you are not allowed to cook in unless you're vegan. It does not state anywhere on the booking that the hosts are Hindu. Why offer shared facilities if paying guests can't use them because of their restrictions.
There were no locks on the doors ...anybody including the hosts could have gone thru my stuff

Didn't expect it to be a homestay but that was okay.

A little on the cold side . I had a thermostat in my room but maybe I was just using it wrong??
