Pleasant enough hotel but the quirky decor doesn't mask the fact it needs some serious refurbishment
Pros:

Reception staff were super helpful - restaurant staff less so....
Large swimming pool good sized bar area
Great ocean view from the bedrooms

Cons:

The first room I had was in desperate need of update and full refurb. The upgraded room I paid for was better and much lighter
Lots of stairs to climb up and down to move around as the hotel as it is build on the hill side
Shower was very weak and useless for washing hair!
Hotel allows people to come in and pay a day charge to use the pool for the day - this means lots of unsupervised children running, screaming and splashing in the pool area while their parents pay them no attention and drink beer.....

Nice quiet and pleasant stay.
Pros:

Great staff attitude, everything was focused around the guest and making the stay enjoyable. Meals were good. Hotel was a multi-level spread across the hillside, giving good views. Nice balcony to sit out on. Large pool.

Cons:

Bedroom had balcony chairs, a desk chair and the bed, but nowhere to sit and relax, it could have benefited from having a comfortable chair.

Two week stay for work

Pros:

Everything is perfect, the room we stay in was perfect, there's flowers outside, birds sounds.
And how they decorate the rooms.
Big shout out to the people who works there..

The Beds a little bit too hard.

Cons:

It was poor from the get-go! The hotel wasn't busy but they had overlooked our reservation! They had rooms in a block 400m away. The room was dated, the bathroom very dated, the bed was dirty, but it had a small kitchen and washing machine. The torrential rain made the whole place feel damp (absolutely not the hotels fault.). The food was atrocious, breakfast was toast, cakes and a little fruit. The evening was very poor service and poor cooking. The dessert crepe was undercooked, covered in grated cheese and inedible after a 30min wait.

Hotel needs some serious money spent on it - rooms very shabby. Food in restaurant was ok not great
Pros:

food was ok, not great. staff lovely

Cons:

pool open to the public so not at ALL relaxing. Bar had thumping music going all the time. room had ants, spiders and mosquitos. bathroom was in a terrible state. cracked basin and shower, broken shower curtain, dirty and unkempt

You can get better deal somewhere else.
Pros:

It’s close to center

Cons:

Showers run cold about 6-8 minutes , then hot water kicks in. WiFi doesn’t work properly. Far from ocean, I didn’t want to pay that much, after 2 days I left.

Wonderful to stay and especially to meet Sir Thomas and hear his stories of the hotel.
Pros:

Location was excellent, staff were wonderfully helpful in all regards, room was very clean and tidy.

Cons:

Bathroom was a bit tired but that was about it.
