This was perfect for spiritual solo trip and social disconnect. I loved the intricate design.
Pros:

I really liked the staff there. The manager, Sonam, and Jordan, the communication person, went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable.

Cons:

The internet was good for WhatsApp messaging, but I could not write as I planned to. I absolutely loved the no-TV fridge idea since I went there for peace, but it might not be ideal for guests with children or other family members. The place is very remote, and there is not much for the young ones to do after sunset.

They also need to work on the wooden bath's drainage attached to the toilet in the room. Because of the slope in my room, the water clogged towards the opposite side of the drainage and dripped, making the floor wet.

Pros:

It is a slice of paradise with a view of cloud tipped mountains and Tiger's Nest Monastery from the bedroom windows! The host was charming and helpful and set our lunch table in the garden with a vase of the most amazing roses. It was a magical meal --the food was also simply delicious!

Cons:

Dinner options are a bit limited but were delicious, with many good vegetarian options. It is also a distance away from the Paro main street but if you are here to relax and get away from it all, this is the perfect location.

Not worth it
Pros:

Architecture is lovely and rooms are nice

Cons:

- We booked two nights: the first one was cancelled the same day due to some “water” issues with the hotel (they rebooked us into another hotel, but still). The second night we were not provided with the room we booked because they claim we never paid the down payment. No one ever asked us to make a down payment. It was again their issue
- At the time of payment they told us the card machine was not working. No one told us before.
- In general the staff is very young and probably not tenured enough. They lack organisation, proper management, and seniority

Overall it’s not worth it

The Taktsangri-la is a pleasant work-in-progress.
Pros:

The guesthouse was pleasant, and conveniently located very close to the TakTsang trailhead.

Cons:

The staff needs training ... seriously.
Much effort has gone into the development of the property, but now the staff need basic Hospitality Sector training.

Incredible Tiger’s Nest experience!
Pros:

I adored this stay! It really is more of a homestay experience but with the privacy of your own beautiful room. The owner and staff were so welcoming and helpful. The massage and hot stone bath were outstanding and walk to Tiger’s Nest right from your door.

Cons:

There wasn’t much else around but didn’t matter. I just wanted to relax on the balcony to enjoy that view!
