Poor service and underwhelming food. Absolutely would NOT recommend.
Pros:

Location was beautiful - remote, best to have a 4WD.
Free on site tours were great.
Dining area was beautiful

Cons:

The biggest negative was the food - very underwhelming and not the haute cuisine we were expecting. We told them in advance that we didn't eat meat, but they seemed to have a problem with this. We were offered pasta and tomato or pesto sauce twice. Absolutely not acceptable for a hotel of this class - very disappointing.
Staff - with some exceptions - were the least friendly in all of the hotels we stayed at in Costa Rica - we didn’t feel the Pura Vida we felt everywhere else.
They were sometimes difficult to understand
The towels were not changed so we had damp towels for 2 days, which was not pleasant - apparently you have to ask!
Rooms were damp and it was impossible to dry our wet clothes - from 2 wet excursions
The hot tub was sometimes boiling hot and sometimes luke warm

These are the reasons we would not come back and would definitely not recommend this hotel

A must visit
Pros:

The property is gorgeous and peaceful. It was a real joy to wander around. The staff were all lovely and the food was delicious. My partner and I spent an inordinate amount of time in our hot tub spotting birds and staring at the amazing hilltop view. I'm already dreaming about coming back and staying much longer.
