GOLDEN PALACE

We booked this hotel for 2 nights through booking.com as the photos they had uploaded were looking good and the facilities they had listed such as air conditioner, flat screen TV with cable channels and a terrace with city view. As per their booking policy we had to pay online before checking and they had mentioned it as non refundable. When we reached the hotel no one was at the front desk and even no lights were on. We waited outside for around 10 mins as no one was around. Then a front desk guy came who is a Pakistani guy, but he had no clue about our booking when we have already paid the room charges including tourist tax of RM 10 per night. As he had no clue of the booking when we showed them the payment confirmation we were asked to pay tourist tax again to them. We showed him back the payment confirmation and then he admitted that the tax also has been paid online. As the next step he asked to pay RM 50 as the security deposit even when we have already paid all the charges in advance. We anyway paid the security deposit and went to the room they have allocated us. We were surprised and disappointed when we entered the room. Their AC didn't work properly, the room was smelly as hell. There was Only a TV cable but not a TV. The plug points beside the bed weren't working.Bathroom was very smelly. No toiletries, tissues, hair dryer nothing. Even the commode didn't have a cover. Hot water wasn't working properly. Also there was a window that couldn't even close. They had just put a curtain to hide it. So didn't feel like staying in that room and asked the owner ( Another Pakistani guy) if we can cancel the booking and get a refund. They refused to refund and asked to cancel via booking.com. The Pakistani owner showed no respect at all even when talking .

When we checked booking.com policies it had mentioned that they will deduct one night room cost as the cancelation fee and refund the rest. The time was around 10.

Toilet door cannot be close, the next morning no water, force me to buy water at 7-11 to brush teeth . The room got weird smell 😭. Also the toilet don't has provide tissue

Dirty hotel no clean. Everything is bad when u sleep u feel atchy all the time I really can't sleep at this day 😪

The Room window is very small

I have booked and paid for one room with two beds, but when i reached there they scammed me with one room with a queen bed. i told them this is the wrong room, they don't care that they say cancel it if u don't want, this is the only room we have right now. Now the funny part is that 1) they already rented the room I have booked for someone else. 2) If I want to cancel it and get a refund I can't bequest booking.com well send it to the hotel to make decision. 3) multiple problems in this place like a bad smell in the room sometimes you can't breathe in there for more you can check the other reviews.
