The best transit hotel I’ve ever stayed at in the entire world!
Pros:

The Airways Hotel truly exceeded my expectations for a transit hotel while having a layover in POM. The grounds are extremely safe, the staff was wonderful and the restaurant and cafe was perfect after our initial experience at the Gateway hotel upon our arrival to POM. I would put the Airways Hotel as the TOP transit hotel I’ve ever stayed in and would not think twice about returning and spending more time on the property!

Cons:

Nothing at all! Everything was perfect. The rooms were very clean and I felt very safe! Again, there was NOTHING that I did not like!

Pros:

The Excellence of the Staff, very welcoming thoughtful from the shuttle run service to hotel staff. Location very convenient and the facilities were five star. Cafe open till late billards table and walking paths round the grounds.

Cons:

Probably need to replace or redo upholstery of the single armed chair in the room. A previous guest left a hand print most likely buai stained hand print on it could be mistaken for blood if you didn't know what buai stains look like. Otherwise our room was top standard 👌

Wonderful hotel but needs significant renovation
Pros:

My experience at Airways is a bit of a mix bag. I absolutely love the public areas of the hotel, its history and decor. It really has an amazing vibe and the staff are lovely. However, I booked a room in the BACCHUS wing which is to the side of the main building. I don’t think the room has ever been renovated and really it was very bad. The furniture was completely had it, there was only central lighting, the bed head banged against the wall every time you moved and the bathroom was a 40 year-old bathroom. The actual bed was high-quality and the air-conditioning worked well. I think this hotel needs to invest some money to maintain its brand. So work to be done to ensure the experience at this iconic hotel is what it should be.

Pros:

There are lots of lounges and really lovely places to sit. In some of them they have lots of old books you can read or even take away with you if you want. The staff are lovely and really helpful is something goes wrong. The gym is excellent and there is even a 20m pool for lane swimming. I used both of these. The equipment was very good.

Cons:

The air conditioning in my room shut down 5 times. Usually in response to power outages. I spent two night with no air conditioning and so did not sleep well. They did offer to put me in another room, but at 3:00 am in the morning, I wasn't keen on this. In the rooms and lounges where the air conditioning was working, it was too cold. (and I have just come from a NZ winter and am used to the cold).
