What I liked most was the hotel’s location (right in the city center) and the staff, who were polite and helpful. It was very convenient: Dadiani Palace was only about a 10–12 minute walk away at a relaxed pace, and shops and restaurants were all within walking distance. The air conditioning in the room was comfortable — neither freezing cold nor too warm. The bed was comfortable as well, and I appreciated the individual bedside lighting. Overall, if it weren’t for the drawbacks listed below, I would say that I liked the hotel. Top marks for the location.
Unfortunately, there was neither a refrigerator nor a kettle with tea/coffee facilities in the room. Perhaps I missed something when booking, but the photos showed both a refrigerator and a kettle. The description also mentioned a “mini-bar,” whatever that was supposed to mean. However, when I arrived, none of these things were actually there.
As a result, I had to leave my room every time I wanted a cold drink and buy one directly at reception — very convenient, right? I couldn’t buy several drinks in advance and keep them in the room because it was hot, they warmed up quickly, and there was nowhere to keep them cold.
During my three-day stay, the room was not cleaned once. Perhaps somewhere in the fine print it said that housekeeping was not included, but still.
On my last night, the hotel became very noisy. Apparently, a group of people arrived with some students or children, stayed at the hotel, and made quite a lot of noise. The children eventually went to bed, but the adults continued sitting near reception for another two or three hours, chatting with the staff. My room was directly opposite them. They only became quiet after I came out looking visibly annoyed to buy yet another bottle of cold water.
On the first day, everything in the bathroom worked properly. By the second day, however, the toilet was flushing very poorly, and the water pressure had become so weak that it was almost impossible to take a shower. The bidet spray stopped working properly as well because of the low water pressure, which was particularly disappointing.

One of our two rooms had the most uncomfortable beds imaginable: a very thin, low quality mattress on a very un-sturdy bed, with a single sheet and blanket. Difficult night with uneasy sleep.

The room was cleaned, renovated, everything worked.
Perfect for a night or two
There was substantial street noise outside the room, and I found the pillows to be quite uncomfortable. Additionally, I really missed having a mini-fridge in the room. It would also be a great improvement to add a kettle with tea supplies, a cup, and a teaspoon.
Astoria Hotel in Zugdidi. The hotel is clean and located right in the city center, making it easy to explore the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. The room was comfortable and quiet.
The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with any questions. The breakfast was fresh, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was warm and inviting.
