Fabulous architecture, even better staff.
Pros:

We had a lovely stay at the Thistle Hotel. It's an older building with a few quirks, but that's all part of its charm. It has so much character, and we'd choose that over a generic modern hotel any day.
Our room was comfortable and it was a great place to come back to after a day spent exploring Edinburgh. The real highlight, though, was the staff. Every member of the team was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and their kindness really made our stay.
The hotel's character is what first caught our attention, but it's the people who made it memorable. We'd happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel with plenty of charm and exceptional hospitality.

Cons:

We were on the top floor, which did get a wee bit warm. A fan is included in the room. If you are sensitive to heat I would recommend requesting a lower floor, but we are also cold weather Canadians, so take this with a grain of salt.

Lovely location in the top end of town however away enough so it isn't hectic and noisy.
Pros:

We Had the top floor but had a lovely view.

Pros:

Läget var lugnt och bra. En kort promenad från buss och spårvagn mm.

Cons:

Vi fick ett rum i källaren med fönster mot personalens rökruta. Luften stod still i rummet och ingen möjlighet att öppna några fönster. Det fanns inte heller tillgång till fläkt på rummet.

We stayed the first night, but left the next morning even though we had paid and were charged.
Cons:

The room was filthy. There was flotsam and jetsum floating in the shower trough, there was mold in the bathroom, the wall paper was peeling, the windows were cracked, and you had to hold them open with window blocks. The cup holder was rusty. We were unable to attach the photos.

Intet absolut intet

Cons:

Værels var en skotøjs æske toilet var endnu værre
Man havde taget en del af værelse til toilet men oven på lå et tykt lag støv og under der stod sengen så man kunne ikke åbne døren helt der var ikke noget natbord måtte vende affaldsspand på hoved og bruge som natbord spurgte efter en lille taburet imtet skete
Vinduer i kanten var sorte og ulækre.
Kunne ikke få andet værelse oplyste at jeg ikke var tilfreds
Der var en sur repceptionus de andre var søde ig serviceminded
Så absolut en oplevelse jeg kunne være foruden
Det blev ikke gjort rent på toilet eller tømt spand på toilet mellem de 2 dage
