Excellent tours, very helpful guides
Breakfast ☹️
Fabuloso hotel en medio de la naturaleza de Tortuguero.
Estupendas instalaciones y habitaciones inmensas.
Arriving by boat very special, small boutique hotel 12 rooms, Well organised for 2 night stay -village visit, and 2 boat trips to national park canals. Knowledgable guide. Nice pool, lovely staff, very good all inclusive meals. Recommend optional extra night walking tour.
All the basic were covered. Rooms were large
Terrible at communicated expectations. When we arrived at the property there was no one at first to welcome us!
Guides were very knowledgeable. The location was lovely, food was good, and staff attentive.
Rooms could have been cleaner, there was lots of dust under beds, which we wouldn't have seen but we had a gekho in the room and it was under the beds. Coffee machine and cups were dirty when we first went to use them.
Beautifully planted, covered, gorgeous sitting areas with views of life on the river. Fabulous pool. Clean, wonderful rooms canopied bed and huge bathroom,
Nothing
The tour guides were very friendly and well educated. Very good animal-spotting! We learned a lot from them. They spoke very well English!
If you booked through Booking.com, you are treated very unfriendly in this hotel. No reply to mails on how to reach the hotel, while other guests were picked up by the transport of Manatus. We payed extra to get to the hotel. Very unfriendly at the reception.
The owners seriously need to upgrade the rooms. All is getting old, the mattresses urgently need to be replaced. There are also only single beds. No king bed available.
The guides Louis and Ricardo were very friendly and well educated. Very good animal-spotting! We learned a lot from them. They spoke very well English!
If you booked through Booking.com. you are treated very unfriendly in this hotel. No reply to mails on how to reach the hotel, while other guests were picked up by the transport of Manatus. We payed 200 dollar extra to get to the hotel. Very unfriendly at the reception. The two English senences this lady could say were ‘talk to your organisation(?!)’ and ‘it will cost you extra’ .
The food is a disaster! My husband got a foodpoisoning from the chicken fajitas which was served cold! He had to stay in bed for 24h. Trying to postpone the Turtle tour to the next day was impossible, though after some time with extra costs (of course!!) it was arranged.
Fantastic location, nice and quiet
Beds were noisy (creaking) and very firm
Such lovely staff, kind, attentive and knowledgable. Tortuguero is an amazing location - the hotel itself is so close to nature. and the all inclusive set up worked well. food was plentiful and good. Luis our guide was a legend! This will be a treasured memory and we can recommend it as one of the most amazing experiences.
very little
everything.
Nothing.
The hotel grounds are beautiful. The staff is wonderful, including the tour guides. We loved the days trips. It's expensive but worth every penny.
We spent 2 nights here as part of our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! The staff were all excellent, so a big shout out to Jhon, Luis, Ricardo and Lecson who made us feel at home in the restaurant, and led excellent tours to view the wildlife. Would highly recommend the Manatus package as a way to explore Tortuguero!
beautiful river lodge and base for exploring the lagoon and Torteguera. saw turtles laying eggs, several sloth sightings and majestic birdlife everywhere. the staff are excellent at the lodge as are the guides who take you out. an excellent base for exploring the area
most of the staff are great especially Ricardo and Lois.
The surrounding nature is beautiful. The pool area was nice and clean. The hotel dog is cute.
The receptionist was like an angry head teacher who hated her job. We asked to arrange a trip to see the turtles and were told there was no space. We had to arrange a private tour by ourselves and this was very easy to do. No one ever came to ask us on the second day if we would like to organise a trip to the turtles . There is no personal boutique service. There were blood stains on beds sheets, table cloths never changed so there were ants crawling all over the table greeting you . The food was not great and with all the fruit in Costa Rica they offer you orange juice from a carton for breakfast. you have to pay extra for anything else…… that sums up the tightness of the place. it is certainly not boutique!
