Pros:

市庁駅から近く、明洞へも歩いて5-10分程度なので非常に便利でした。スタッフの方は全員素晴らしく素敵な対応をしてくれました。また泊まりたいです。

Cons:

清掃、タオル交換は依頼しないと対応がないので少し面倒であることと部屋から隣のサブウェイの客席が丸見えでカーテンを開けれない所ですが、ほぼ気になりません。

Perfect place to stay in Myeongdong; will definitely stay again!
Pros:

The staff was incredibly accommodating even before I arrived in Korea. They were very responsive when I messaged them despite the time difference, and the in-person customer service was even better. I'd like to specifically thank Dustin for helping us feel welcome at check-in, Jerry for his kindness at check out, and Yuna for going the extra mile and helping me when I was rushing to the airport for my flight home.

The location is perfect, even if you aren't keen on doing most of your sightseeing in Myeongdong, as it's close to a subway station and has multiple bus stops right outside of the property. I bopped around the city without much difficulty. There are also multiple restaurants within walking distance (and some on the same block), so finding food nearby isn't difficult.

Facilities are great, there's a rooftop lounge and a washing machine that you can use for free!

Overall, I'm glad I booked here and wouldn't hesitate to do it again the next time I visit South Korea! :)

Cons:

Be aware that if you aren't staying for longer than 3 nights, housekeeping will only provide a light clean (taking out trash, making up beds) upon request. They remind you of this at check-in, but it's relatively easy to forget.

Proximity to City Hall meant there were multiple protests down the street over the course of my stay (3 nights). However, they only occurred during the day, so they didn't affect my sleep schedule at all.

Cheap but wouldn’t recommend for solo female travellers
Pros:

The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The property is very tired, you can hear noise from the neighbouring rooms and it is located in an alley I probably wouldn’t have wanted to walk down alone. The sheets didn’t look clean and it didn’t feel very safe - after 11pm there is no reception staff and although the door is locked, you just use your key to get in and then can go straight up to any of the floors. There is no safety latch on the door and it’s hard to tell if it’s properly locked.

Pros:

I cannot recommend First Stay Myeongdong enough! The location is convenient, close to a lot of the typical touristy things to see and do in central Seoul, and it is away from the main street (so you are protected from the full ambience of the city).
The room itself has almost all the amenities you could need including an international adaptor wall socket. The cleanliness was to a high standard too with absolutely nothing to complain about there — it really made my stay here that much more relaxing. I loved the small details too. The branding from the towels, to the pillow cases, to the fire evacuation notice on the door show a real sense of pride in this hotel.
This sense of taking intentional care to provide great service naturally shows in the staff too.
Yuna greeted me with such warmth and friendliness that my endless journey from overseas was forgotten. She gave a robust overview of all I needed to know about the hotel and its services, even highlighting the super important details for easy referral later.
Yuna's passion for creating great experiences for the hotel guests was evident right from the start. This bright and knowledgeable attitude even made me regret that my stay at First Stay Myeongdong wouldn't be longer.

Cons:

This didn't affect my stay at all but if you like hot drinks, bring your own tea and coffee ingredients to make use of the kettle and mugs.

Pros:

Very small issue - the fridge and other electronics would make loud noises throughout the night.
