Great option for lodging on Tokashiki island
Pros:

Hotel Kanaloa is a great place to stay on the island. It’s clean, new, there is a free hotel shuttle to popular beaches on the other side of the island at times throughout the day, and staff are helpful. The room is snug but has everything needed for a comfortable stay.

Enjoyed my stay and would come again. A good place in a less touristy part of the island.
Pros:

The staff were very helpful and kind. The property was clean and quiet. I particularly liked Tokashiki village. The feeling there is relaxed and the locals are kind/friendly. My room was functional and clean however small/compact as one would expect on the island. A handy little desk and chair, kitchette, open closet, comfortable toilet and unit shower. Lighting and ventilation were good. A convenient, pleasant, balcony outside the end of the hall with a clothes rack (the designated smoking area). Free shuttle service to the beaches.

Cons:

Could have used more hang points in the room for clothes, things to air out/dry. Not enough hangers in closet.
Could not leave small carry-on clamshell suitcase open at bottom of closet and operate the room door. I don't know how anyone would even manage to open a larger suitcase. There is no place to do that other than on the bed - which I don't like to do.
Room window is opaque for necessary privacy from adjacent property. Nonetheless, the lack of a view/natural light in a small room felt a bit claustrophobic. However not a real issue as I spent little time in my room.

Pros:

Free shuttle services to the beaches, close to the port. Very nice staff and hotel room

Cons:

Restaurant was good because there isn’t a lot to eat around the area but it was a bit pricey

Pros:

Very helpful staff! We were able to spontaneously rent a car to explore the island. The hotel is in walking distance to the ferry port. For breakfast you get a traditional Japanese meal. The dinner options are also very delicious.

Cons:

There are no double bed options.

Oikein hyvä valinta
Pros:

Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja todella hienoja ihmisiä. Sijainti oli todella kätevä. Hotellilla on mahdollista vuokrata auto. Hotellin ravintola oli hyvätasoinen ja siellä kävikin asiakkaita sen mukaisesti. Tulisin uudelleen.

Cons:

Suosittelisin selkeämpää viestintää autonvuokrauksesta koska en heti edes tajunnut sen olevan hotellin kautta mahdollista vaikka halusinkin auton saarella vuokrata. Sänky oli omaan makuuni ehdottomasti liian kova mutta se on aika yleistä Japanissa. Haluaisin että huoneessa olisi valo lukemista varten. Nyt sellaista ei ollut.

Sehr gut gelegenes kleines Hotel in Tokashiki
Pros:

Vor allem das Personal ist zu loben, dass uns sehr geholften hat. Ein verlorenes Telefon fand sich wieder an und uns wurde der Shuttel-Bus sehr gut erklärt. Es ist möglich an alles offiziellen Strände zu fahren. Am Abfahrtstag konnten wir noch unser Gepäck unterstellen und sogar ein wenig in der Lobby warten, bevor wir zur Fähre gingen. Das Zimmer war sauber und gemütlich, wenn auch sehr klein und das Bett für zwei Personen gerade ausreichend groß. Dafür war aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Uns hat es auch nicht gestört, dass durch das Wechseln der Schuhe am Hoteleingang der Sand und Schmutz draußen gehalten wird. Ein sehr gutes Hotel.

Pros:

Excellent customer service! Very detail oriented and attentive staff members. Hotel is in a great location, just 3 minutes walking from the port. They offer shuttle services to Aharen Beach multiple times per day. Highly recommended!
