The location was the main positive aspect of the property. The hotel is conveniently situated in Southport, with easy access to the waterfront and the town centre. The room itself was reasonably comfortable and, apart from the cleanliness issue described below, generally acceptable. Unfortunately, these positive aspects were significantly overshadowed by the problems I experienced during my stay and the way my complaints were handled.
Unfortunately, there were several issues which significantly affected my stay.
Firstly, cleanliness. Although the room was generally reasonably clean, I found spider webs in the room, which I consider unacceptable in a hotel room. More importantly, I reported this issue, but nothing was done about it. I would expect a reported cleanliness problem to be dealt with promptly, rather than simply being ignored.
Secondly, the Wi-Fi was largely unusable. I stayed in room 209 and experienced an unreliable internet connection for most of my stay. I reported the problem because I had an important online conference and needed a reliable connection. Unfortunately, the issue was not properly resolved. The connection was intermittent and was only occasionally usable, particularly very late at night. As a result, I had to rely on my own mobile data, costing me approximately £60.
What was particularly disappointing was the hotel’s response to my complaint. Rather than properly acknowledging the problem, the hotel emphasised that the Wi-Fi was provided “free of charge” and that they had not received complaints from other guests. I found this response dismissive and evasive. The fact that Wi-Fi is complimentary does not mean that a guest should not reasonably expect it to work, particularly when the problem has been reported during the stay.
The breakfast service was another area that could be significantly improved. The breakfast itself was essentially the same every day. I can accept a relatively limited or repetitive breakfast selection, but the bigger problem was the organisation and staffing of the breakfast area. There appeared to be insufficient staff to manage the dining room properly. Although the staff members were polite and friendly, the service appeared poorly organised and lacked clear coordination and supervision.
On several occasions, tables had not been cleared and cleaned for arriving guests.

The location and beautiful views.
The room smelled very musty/moldy.
Clean, modern decor and comfortable room
Nothing
Dusty room, no response from room service 3 days, car park closed, slow service in restaurant, staff not responsive, damp smell in lift/ basement, asked for quiet room and was put in room next to early roadworks
My room was very comfortable, bed was great as was the shower.
Not the hotels fault but my reason for staying was so that I didn’t have to get up so early as I was working in Southport the next day. On arrival at the hotel (around 11pm) I found that the car park was to be closed from 9am which negated my reason for paying for an overnight stay!!
I do think the hotel should have messaged me before I arrived, to let me know that this was happening even if it was late in the day.
Nice clean spacious room.
Poor breakfast. Cheap quality ingredients.
Lovely rooms
Good service
