We had a wondetful stay. The cottages,are very nice and the people friendly. Its about 3 min by car to the sea, so around 10 min walk. Its quiet. There is a communal kitchen and fridge, which comes in handy if you stay longer.

Une toute petite chose, le cottage est situé à l'entrée du village, il faut marcher dans le noir au bord de la route pour aller dîner.

Excellent wooden cabins on stilts.
Kitchen facilities, microwave, hob etc, in separate building.
Great Wi-Fi.
Friendly and helpful French owner Natalie as were the cleaning staff.
The cabins are located around 15 minutes walk from Sarteneja fishing village.
If you are arriving by local bus the bus driver will drop you off around 200 metres from the cabins on the main road, you can also catch the return bus at the same location.
Highly recommended.

We needed a place close to an event we were attending. This is great value for the money we paid. Staff very friendly and horses were friendly as well. Easy to find and just outside of the small village. It is slow season, so if we needed it, we were allowed to check out late if needed. This allowed us to leave our bags in the room while attending the event in the morning and not worry about getting back before 10 or 11 am!! It was nice not having to rush and pack up at 4:30 am!!
Can't fault the facility and being from Belize now, we were prepared for the mosquitos but some people might want to remember to bring bug spray, even for sleeping. Two fans in the room and a cool front made it very comfortable inside. There is no A/C so you need to leave the windows open to get a nice breeze which allows the mosquitos in.
Natalie is an excellent host.

Nothing about this stay was not to like..
Natalia was a wonderful sedum host. The cottages are clean and comfortable. Location is great, close to town, but not too close. Great for a quiet getaway in a very peaceful setting.

I liked the laidback location. Sarteneja, the nearby village, is perfect for people who don’t like loud, overdeveloped touristy places. It’s the anti-San Pedro
Fantastic place! Surrounded by nature and calm, the bungalows have a very comfy beds and nice cozy decoration. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The common kitchen is useful to prepare some simple food. We enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave. Thank you Nathalie:)
Horse Cottage is really off-the-beaten path and Sarteneja I bet is a hidden gem among Belize panorama. If you’re looking for an authentic experience within Belize you should pick this place. Nathalie was nice and available in sharing tips and information. My bungalow had a decent space, and clean with eye-detailed furniture. I particularly appreciated the outdoor spaces with palm and other fruits trees, the horses and the shared space featuring a kitchen with good coffee and real Italian moka machine.
I was pretty unlucky with the weather with strong winds, grey skies and pretty chill temperature. Moreover my boat to Sarteneja from San Pedro was cancelled I had to pay over 70 USD dollar for taxi to bring me here. Of course you can’t handle the weather forecast by take in mind while booking that this place is really remote and there’s just one public bus getting in and leaving every time. The ferry can’t be really reliable. Plus there’re vey few options of Restourants in the area, which at night close pretty early around 7:00 pm. It course these aspects are not connecting to Horse Cottage but you should take them in consideration while booking.
Peaceful location 15 minutes walk from Sarteneja. Friendly, helpful staff. Shared area with water, hot drinks and stove. Good place to stay whilst checking out the village. Bus from Corozal dropped me off at the location.
No on site store and a little remote from the village shops.
It was so peaceful! Perfect place to hang out and just relax. Loved the sound of the birds in the morning. The hosts are amazing, too!

Great setting close to Sarteneja and Shipstern. We were able to watch wildlife on the property and nearby. The common kitchen area included potable water, a refrigerator and stove for meal prep (though we ate our meals in Sarteneja).
Can't think of anything we didn't like. No air conditioning, but there are fans and we slept well.
Quiet,peaceful, laid back and stress free. The host Nathalie is lovely ,charming and accommodating as is the staff..Great stay and will be returning..A true Belize experience with an abundance of nature and
an added bonus of horses and dogs. Heartwarming.
There is nothing to dislike. Anyone who finds fault with Horse Cottage needs to check themselves.
