Great place to stay to explore Ilfracombe!
Pros:

Wonderful hotel. It is in a great situation, close to the sea front and Ilfracombe town centre. The staff were fantastic, really helpful at all times and gave us lots of advice for where best to visit, and what cliffpaths were shut, etc. Breakfast was included and excellent quality and portion sizes. We particularly loved the little library tucked away on the entrance floor!

I had a lovely 2-night stay at the Carlton Hotel in Ilfracombe. From the moment I arrived, everything felt welcoming and well-organised. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay.

A special mention to Michael at reception, who was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout my visit.

The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to explore Ilfracombe and the surrounding area. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would happily return in the future.

The Carlton Hotel, Ilfracombe - a perfect stay
Pros:

From the moment we walked in the experience was a joy.
Michael the owner was the perfect host. He made us feel really special. He knew where we went each day and asked about it when we returned.

The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Our large room was great; comfortable bed wonderful shower in the en suite. There were comfy chairs plus a table and chairs.

The restaurant was well appointed and the food delicious.

All the staff, housekeeping and restaurant seemed to take a real pride in their work.

All in all, this is one of the best hotels that we have stayed in and when we return to north Devon we will certainly stay at the Carlton.

Cons:

Nothing we didn't like. It was a great experience.

Fantastic stay would recommend a stay there.
Pros:

the cleanliness was outstanding. Staff were welcoming and informative. Location fantastic within walking distance of harbour and shops. Parking on site a bonus.

I’ve been using booking.com for years but never again as will family and friends.
Pros:

I had to give a score or l couldn’t proceed to giving a comment,l never actually got to stay there as the war in the Middle East put and end to that so l really can’t comment on the actual hotel but l can comment on the treatment l received when l had to cancel,absolutely disgusting,the owner of the Carlton tried to say it was non-refundable which was absolute nonsense as l booked months in advance from Australia and lm just touching on 80 years of age so believe me l wouldn’t book a hotel that was non-refundable,numerous e-mails asking for proof from the hotel and booking.com about this was fruitless as both blamed the other and l wound up $1,200 dollars down the drain,like l said l can’t complain about the facilities but l can complain about the management and it’s absolutely atrocious.

Cons:

Couldn’t tell you but l wouldn’t stay there if l was homeless.
