Not safe, don't go ladies

The mother is a nice person, wonderful yard

I did not feel safe at this hostel, especially as a solo female traveler.

The female dorm is surrounded by male dorms, and some male guests behaved inappropriately and made me uncomfortable.

The bathroom situation is poor—there is only one shared bathroom for all dorms, and it was not clean. Guests would knock on the door even when occupied, which felt intrusive.

Hot water was not working, so showers were uncomfortable.

The hostel is located on a quiet, isolated street, which feels unsafe, especially at night.

Food options nearby are limited—only a fruit shop and some expensive restaurants.


⚠️ Safety Concern (Important):

During my stay, I met another solo female traveler. She shared a serious incident where some male guests knocked on her door late at night, falsely claiming to be police and asking her to open the door. She realized something was wrong and did not open it. Later, she sought help from another traveler and reported the issue to the hostel management. While the situation was addressed afterward, this raises serious concerns about safety and security.

❗Overall:

Due to safety concerns and poor facilities, I did not feel comfortable staying here and checked out early. I would strongly recommend solo female travelers to be cautious and consider staying in more central and secure areas of Almaty.
