Hyatt Regency Changbaishan

Great location, next to ski-resort with many excellent restaurants, coffee shops and a supermarket.

An amazing hotel directly on the slopes. Ski hire, helmet and lift passes included in the hotel rate. Hotel rate also included breakfast and lunch, even though the meal plan was "no food". Recommend checking at the hotel to confirm meals. Hotel is modern and well equipped. Ski lift is within 100m from the ski locker room. Whilst weather was cold (-10C daytime), it was OK provided you dressed warm and had mask. Ski runs are great for beginners and intermediates, just not long. However, there we NO queues on the chair lift and gondolas, so straight back up the hill every time. Plenty of man-made snow on the slopes and a bonus when it also snowed overnight whilst we were there. Free bus to and from airport. Resort is only 20 minutes from the airport. We ate in the hotel, but there is also hotpot, Korean BBQ, KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, McDonalds etc + small supermarkets. Primarily a Chinese resort. Friendly and able to communicate with reception staff in english + assistance via Google Translate. If you travel with Chinese speaking friends or family, then certainly no issues. Regency Club lounge served free food and drinks from 17:30 to 19:30, so no need for an evening meal, if your room includes lounge access.

Amazing hotel. We spent an incredible week in that hotel. To begin with, it was very convenient, shuttle bus from and to the airport were included. The hotel is very beautiful with lots of apparent wood, stones and carpet that give it a nice cozy wintery feel. The location is great it’s probably the closest hotel to the ski lifts with a true ski in ski out. Included in the room is ski pass and ski rental (skis, poles, boots and helmets, we had our own helmets). The equipment is great and provided by the hotel in their own ski house. Also included was a daily pass to the water park and a one pass to the hot springs. We went once to each and it both were nice. The hotel also has a nice large pool and an open air hot pool. We had the club room which gave us access to the breakfast which is a buffet with a very large choice, a light lunch with a set lunch to choose from and an après ski buffet with some choice of food and drinks. I highly recommend that package.
The staff was very nice and helpful. I don’t speak Chinese and my girlfriend only speaks a bit and it was easy to have help the whole time. Thank you very much to all the staff. We also had a medical emergency and the hotel staff helped arrange and ambulance and the manager came with us and walked us through the hospital. It was incredibly helped and relieved the stress massively as we had just arrived when it happened and had no idea of the environment. Thank you very very much Chris !
On top of that, the village is very nice with much more than I was expecting. Lots of gear shops and restaurants maybe lacking a little bit on the supermarket side but most things can be found. The piste are also opened for a night skiing sessions which we didn’t attend but will definitely do next time. There were goski photographers everywhere on the pistes and at the end of them taking photos that you can then buy on their app, it’s a pretty cool service.
