Demosan Hotel

Unfortunately, we are very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. The description clearly states that the rooms are non-smoking, however this is not reflected in reality.

The staff showed us as many as eight rooms, and in each of them there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. In the last room the smell was slightly less intense, but still very noticeable. Due to the late hour and our long journey, we had no choice but to check in.

We do appreciate that the staff tried to help and even offered us rooms of a higher standard than the one we had booked. However, that was not the point - what we needed was simply a room where we wouldn’t feel like we were standing in a smoking area. Unfortunately, this was not possible.

The situation became even worse after turning on the air conditioning - the smell intensified, as if cigarette smoke was being blown into the room from elsewhere. The bed linen, towels, and curtains - everything smelled of smoke. Additionally, the curtains were visibly dirty (photo attached).

After just one night, all of our clothes smelled of cigarettes and now need to be sent to a laundry service. It is hard to imagine staying in this hotel with a child - with the air conditioning on, it feels as if you are standing right next to someone smoking.

In our opinion, the information stating that the rooms are non-smoking should not be included in the offer, as it is simply not true. This is especially disappointing because the hotel itself is nicely designed and could make a very good impression. Unfortunately, for non-smokers, staying here is extremely uncomfortable.

Despite their efforts, the staff were unable to provide us with a room where the smell was acceptable. Overall, this experience has been very disappointing.

Not too many choices in this City, but the Demosan seemed to be up there amongst the best. Although there was plenty of parking around the back, I chose to leave my rental scooter in the front of the hotel where is was more visible.
Entering the hotel, you get a real sense of grandeur with the open lobby, cum atrium, and everything looked quite spectacular.
Check-in was a bit slow, but once we had our key, the elevators sped us to the room. Our room was clean, spacious, well appointed, and had a comfy large bed. The bathroom was also good although one bulb in the ceiling needed replacing.
Shower was hot and strong.
In the evening, if you walk right, when leaving the hotel, you will find a number of restaurants & shops to occupy your time.
Our included breakfast was good, although the smoking room tacked onto the side wasn't ideal as every time the door opened, a strong waft of cigarette smoke entered. OK, its Turkey, and next time I would chose a different table. The breakfast selection was adequate although some of the warm dishes cud have been warmer.
The only downside to this hotel was the dismal Wi-Fi. Its one of those "log in to our portal" types, and this was a real pain. Even when I went to reception to ask for help, it probably took the best part of 5 minutes to get a connection. I think the receptionist was as frustrated as me.
In all, we enjoyed our stay, and with the exception of Wi-Fi, were pleased with everything.

The hotel itself was great: fancy, great amenities and included breakfast. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice and the room (aside from the smell) was clean.

The property is quite luxurious and you can enjoy the swimming pool and the sauna. The location is very close to the center and the amenities. A private parking is available at the back of the hotel.
