Fantastic hotel in beautiful jungle setting. Wonderful staff.
We had a delicious break at Kahanda Kanda. The hotel is set in a lush, tranquil landscape and its every detail is carefully thought through. Our gorgeously designed villa, Mango, was huge and airy and cool; the balcony overlooking trees with peacocks and monkeys was a perfect spot for our morning cup of tea. Staff are delightful and efficient—special thanks to the ever-smiling Ushadi, friendly and helpful Kolhara, and barman Amith (who knew his wines and made a delicious dirty martini!). Owner George Cooper has fascinating tales to tell as well as a great eye for detail and beautiful design. The pool is lovely, the food excellent, the vibe relaxed but chic. We spent a day down at the Miami South Beach-style KK Beach partner hotel , a fun 15-min tuk tuk ride away (offered by hotel), and had a good lunch there too. About 45 mins from Galle and I’d rather stay at Kahanda Kanda.
What a special place! One of our favorites ever! We even extended 3 nights we were so happy. Beautiful, peaceful location, loved the private villa pool, rooms were so comfortable and well designed. Staff went above and beyond, all so kind. Definitely coming back!

Wow - 5+ on every aspect. Sadly we only stayed here 1 night but it is still so memorable. Attention to detail on everything from the minute we arrived - warm welcome (and we were early because of Cyclone Ditwah still blowing when we left Galle), delicious coffee and welcome drink. Room was spacious (Tea) with area for sitting outside to watch birds or purple faced monkeys (a rarity). Food was excellent with great views out to the tea plantation below. Good sized pool to leisurely cool off (20m). Overall, a great stay - one of our favorites during our 1 month sister trip driving around Sri Lanka
The gym equipment needs an upgrade, but amazing view out the window made up for it!
We had the most fantastic stay at KK. The staff were so attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was beautiful and so clean. The food was great. We were even given a celebratory cake which was a lovely touch. The perfect start to our honeymoon. Highly recommend.
It's a great place to chill out in exceptional surroundings with excellent service
It's serenity. My room, Kadju. The open air dining. The outlooks and wildlife.
Loved our time here! We flew in from Auckland so was perfect spot to get over our jetlag.
Amazing Accomodation and food.
Staff super friendly and helpful
Totally recommend!
Stunning location. Beautifully laid out, nestled on the top of a hill amongst a lovely tea-garden.
The cottages (rooms) are beautifully decorated as if a private home, supremely comfortable.
Everything was perfect! The location, the design details, the privacy, the attentiveness of the staff, the food, the cocktails…..
I would change absolutely nothing!
The best of the best
No where else compares
Location, service level, and friendly professional staff
Can not mention one thing I did not like
Beautiful setting with wildlife all around. Design and decor make the hotel more of a home. Privacy and peacefulness guaranteed. Staff are exceptional and food menus offer variety and interesting options. No need to go anywhere as all you need is on site.

A beautiful tea plantation with kind and attentive staff. We loved our villa (Hibiscus), the view (trees and peacocks) and breakfast banana bread. The Ayurvedic massage is highly recommended.
