Couldn’eat meals in room
Central location, no problems parking,
N/A
It was clean and we were met at the door by the host .
The photo and description makes this sound much grander than it actually is.
It was surrounding a square where a number of homeless people slept.
We were charged £5 for a car park on waste ground where we parked for free last year staying in a different hotel.
The hotel was satisfactory but would not chose to go there again.
It was a last minute booking due to booked accommodation cancelling a few days earlier
Position
Room, although a budget room and we didn’t expect luxury, was soulless, more akin to a cell. No colour apart from a wall hanging of a beach and palm trees! Didn’t really work!
Double bed against the wall so had to climb over my husband to get up in the night to use the bathroom, three floors down.
Curtains were so thin we were awake very early due to the morning light.
Furniture cobbled together, not very pleasant.
Wouldn’t take much money to put a bit of colour on the walls, nice pictures and some better quality bedding, making the small room a bit cosier.
Property is fine, where as the owner she puts on a complete& utter total show of “being the nice lady”.
Property is fine, where as the owner she puts on a complete& utter total show of “being the nice lady”.
She shoved literally me & my 3 kids &baby out in the rain with no rain cover. She tried charging me £50! To have an extra 20 minutes to sort the kids out as we was FROZEN all night and morning. As there was no heating as I stated the night before but got ignored. She told me well as an adult u should know how to use a radiator everyone does? Which I stated I radiator was on 5 but u hadn’t set it to be on as explained in text back from herself. She shouted infront of kids and tried embarrassing myself. Also she tried saying she’s going to charge my card not agreeed?
Very friendly and helpful owner, the room was tidy, and contained lots of information on activities and places to eat. Accommodation is across the road from the train station with everything in within walking distance, should you not drive.
Being unable to eat in the room if you have a budget, booking
The landlady was so enthusiastic and made us feel so welcome
A bit tired and dated, could do with money spent on it
Its important to note that all of the activites mentioned on their booking.com advertisement are not available here. None of them are. We were looking forward to the spa and archery, and neither activity was anywhere near the site. Indeed, we never did find them in scarborough at all.
Parking even though you pay £5 a day is atrocious, yes there are 3 streets to choose from but they are all full, all of the time it was just by chance we got parked up on arrival and then after a day trip to whitby.when i arrived i rang to ask for a car parking spit and the woman claimed on the phone i didnt book, then she failed to hang up after saying she was coming out and i heard her and her husband moaning about it. Then, face to face, she said it was because she wasn't expecting me yet. Terrible customer service, i dont expect to be slagged off by the propriator.
The shower (no, it wasn't user error as suggested) runs from hot to cold no in between and then floods, meaning there's not enough time to wash, and wash your hair.
We were asked to put a handle note for the room to be serviced for clean towels (bedding change not mentioned), and it wasn't done. With nowhere to dry the towels effectively, so after a useless quick shower and strip wash, you have to use damp towels from the day before.
Unsuitable if you're disabled due to step into the ground floor and flights of stairs tp other rooms.
The bed was a cheap old mattress with a slab of foam (not memory foam it was more like insulation) very uncomfortable in a room that you could barely walk around the bed, i hit my legs on the bed numerous times. There's nowhere to put suit cases either.
Do yourself a favour. Go somewhere else. Absolute rip off for £90 a night. I've had better stays in £50 rooms
Close to station.
Tea coffee available
Lady who runs it very friendly
Nothing.
Comfortable, clean & an excellent location. The owner was extremely helpful & couldn't do enough for us. Fantastic weekend away 👌🏻
The owner was very friendly and kind welcoming.
Soon as we arrived she was prompt to get us to our property.
It was a last minute stay due to an unexpected visit to another hotel that was inadequate for my family to stay in. The owner sorted us out quickly and promptly.
The room was clean and tidy.
The bathroom is stunning..
my little boys slept really well in the bunk beds and really enjoyed their stay.
The double bed was clean and comfy, one of the comfiest beds we have slept in away from home.
Lovely little touches in the room, shower gels clean towels and amenities.
Hairdryer was a great idea as I had forgotten mine.
Lovely location and close to the beach.
Nothing really it’s was a lovely stay. One thing I would say is a fan in the room would of been great but not necessary.
We sleep with a fan on at home l, the room was a little hot for us however we slept great.
Brilliant location and really friendly staff. The room was really reasonably priced and just what we were looking for.
The bed was really uncomfortable but the weather was so warm and I am 8 months pregnant which isn't the hotel's fault! I would definitely stay here again though.
Good location
Friendly welcome and assistance to room
Good value for money parking permit
•Very basic accommodation for the price of £93.00
•Very early check out at 9.00am as parking permit only lasted till then
•No shower mat so bathroom floor was very wet once shower was used
The personal touch and the owner was around and had good knowledge of the area and what was going on in and around Scarborough
Nothing really
Location and it was quiet during the night.
Bit like a multi occupant large house turned into bedsits.
