Pros:

Lovely staff and fabulously designed villas with a striking open air bathroom. Amazing full length was the extremely well received the end of a hot day. Breakfasts were also very nice

Cons:

The extra fee for use of the canoe, which wasn’t clear from the booking information.

Tout était absolument parfait !
Pros:

C’est encore plus beau que sur les photos. La piscine est incroyable, avec une température idéale : on y entre comme dans un bain. Comme l’établissement ne compte que quatre chambres, nous avons souvent eu la piscine rien que pour nous, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable.

Les repas sont délicieux et le cadre le soir, avec les lumières, est tout simplement magnifique. Le personnel est d’une gentillesse exceptionnelle, toujours attentionné et souriant.

Franchement, rien à redire : tout était top. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés !

Luxuriöses Zimmer mit sehr komfortablem Bett und Außenbad. Einladender Pool und ästhetischer Restaurantbereich. Gute Auswahl an Sri lankischen Frühstücksoptionen. Sehr hilfsbereites Team!

Cons:

Sonnenschirme sollten im Poolbereich ergänzt werden!
Restaurantpreise im Vergleich sehr teuer, sodass wir nicht im Hotel gegessen haben.
Der Gartenbereich könnte liebevoller gestaltet sein, insbesondere um den Pool herum

A great place to unwind
Pros:

We stayed at Omkara at the end of our Sri Lanka trip, it was the perfect end to a very varied holiday. The cabin is very spacious with a comfortable bed, and the outdoor bathroom is great - especially at night time seeing all the stars above!

The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and the food was delicious.

The stand out feature of Omkara has to be the swimming pool. It is big enough (I'd say 20-25 metres) to really have a proper swim, and it is clean and very inviting!

Beautiful swimming pool, disappointing service

The reception manager was unfriendly and inflexible during check-in.
After a long and hot journey from Mirissa, our Apple Pay payment did not go through. We asked to check in and complete the payment within an hour because we need to top up the balance on another card which we had physical , but no understanding was shown.
We were asked to wait at the reception before we paid. Is it my problem that your payment system doesn’t accept Apple Pay? The manager was rude he told us if you don’t like it you can choose another hotel. Imagine such an unprofessional behavior ?
Did the manager think we wouldn’t pay staying here for three nights? 😆

It’s not a hotel with private four small villas.
Everyone from outside can use the swimming pool — just pay for one drink. The pool and restaurant areas are shared with outside visitors. But there are only 7 sunbeds…and 4 tables at the restaurant area )
Non-guests were constantly sitting in common areas, with strong smells of prohibited smoke (you know). This was happening all three nights we were there — no privacy, no chill. Loud talks all day and till late evening.

Our room was never cleaned. Empty bottles and glasses were not removed, and the room had no natural light, no window, only very dim lighting.
The hotel feels more like a public space than a proper hotel.

Two stars — for the pool and the surroundings.

I know what the hotel will answer: check the previous 1-star review for this hotel. And check their official answer, which absolutely verifies my review as 100% true ;)
If I had seen this 1-star review and the official answer from Orkawa Rekawa, I would never have booked this hotel

And we also found a Cockroach in my room yuck. Lizard inside the room is ok cockroach means poor sanitation

Not value for the money 100%

Pros:

Omkara Rekawa offers a beautiful and serene/luxurious retreat. The amenties and room are very well kept, the pool was big and clean.
All staff were extremely attentive and caring, going above an beyond for our needs and wishes. Very recommendable! If our vacation allowed it we would have extended our stay without a doubt :)

Absolutely excellent for value
Pros:

It was absolutely excellent for value. We really liked the pool. The room and outdoor bathroom are stunning. The staff members were also very nice and helpful when we had problems trying to get a prearranged transport.

Cons:

Nothing really. It might be useful to have some chairs (e.g an armchair) inside the room itself though.

-wir konnten viele Affen beobachten

-Welcome- & Abschiedsdrink
-schöne Lagune direkt bei der Unternunft

Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen:)

Cons:

Der Pool kann auch von der Unterkunft nebenan benutzt werden. Es hatte daher einige Male zu wenig Liegestühle. Auf Anfrage werden aber Liegen gebracht.
Zudem wären Sonnenschirme toll.
