Margate House

The price of the room didn’t include breakfast, but it didn’t stop us having brunch and breakfast in Willys.

Sadly the room, very small. Advertised as King with no sizes listed on Booking.com, but listed as small and cozy on other sites. Did politely ask if another room was available, but no luck. Bar already closed at 8.20, when we returned from the seafront, lounge too, so nowhere to sit. Sunlight enters room at 5am. Room expensive, could include breakfast, could include a discount for its size. We had booked 3 hotels for 3 nights. I so wanted to love this hotel, it was my 1st choice, but sadly my 2nd and 3rd choices were far superior.

I need to say, it’s not worth the price! Check in is late, at 4pm, and when we arrived there was no water, no tv in the room, no fridge or even door locks. The room and shower were so tiny and annoyingly had some really loud noises throughout the night that kept me up! It’s not worth the £300. The hotel is in a random location as well

You could hear the people above us walking around in their room and unfortunately it kept us awake in the early hours of the morning.

Our door handle came off and the door seal had come loose - but these were minor complaints about an exceptional property.

Only one person had a light switch, which controlled both the bedside lights. When I requested a separate bedside light, a lamp was provided, but it was far too dim to be much use.
The door handle fitting was inadequate for such a heavy door and it kept coming off. I think the screw was tightened, after I mentioned it, but the handle came off again straight away.
Nice to have fresh milk in the fridge, but it was only refreshed on request.

La chambre et la salle de bain sont vraiment tres tres petites. Le prix est tout de meme eleve pour l'experience. En comparaison j'ai paye 1 nuit a cet hotel le meme prix que 3 nuits a Paris en plein ete. Ce serait bien de communiquer les horaires de l'accessibilite du Whatsapp, ou a qui parler pour tout ce qui est hotel - ce n'etait pas clair pour moi qui travaille au restaurant, au bar ou a l'hotel ou si tout le monde peut repondre a des questions d'hotel. Ca aurait ete sympa d'avoir un rabais pour le restaurant-bar qui est tres dispendieux.

The room got a little hot

Hard to find something to write. Our view wasn’t amazing.

Nothing. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly from the moment we stepped through the door. Loved the furnishings and the lounge area which was super nice for drinks. The bed was so comfy and having a sitting area in the room was so nice. The air conditioning was very welcome! We ate in the restaurant which made for a perfect stay.

Late check-in / shared facilities
As two young women, it would have been great to have a larger toilet with space available while waiting for our room to be ready. This would make it much more comfortable for guests to freshen up and get ready after travelling. After having a drink and waiting for a while, a kind member of staff did manage to find us a space downstairs, which we really appreciated.

USB ports in bedrooms
It would have been helpful to have USB ports in the bedrooms. It makes charging multiple devices much easier without needing additional plug adaptors.

TV
A small TV in each room would be a nice addition for evenings when guests are tired after a day of exploring.

Noisy neighbour
Unfortunately, we had a noisy neighbour above us who woke up at 6am and proceeded to play their radio loudly. We would suggest leaving a small note near the radios asking guests to be considerate when using them, particularly during early morning and late-night hours. The hotel did kindly allow us a late check-out due to the disrupted sleep, which we appreciated.

Need more hooks in the bathroom for wet towels and robes would be nice.
