We stopped at Atul's hotel "Peninsula" . Atul ordered us a taxi from the airport to the hotel, he told us to pay the driver at his reception desk. The amount announced was 6,500 rupees. The driver later asked us how much we gave him, it turned out that the poor driver received only 3500 RNB half as much. This alerted us.
The room does not match the description, in the room one bed occupies almost the entire space. View of the wonderful Ganges. There is only one window per floor in the hotel, and the street is very noisy: horns, noise from scooters and cars. We have booked a hotel for 8 days. On the third day, we realized that we were overpaying and the conditions did not match the stated ones, so we decided to move out. The prepayment was made for 4 days. On the third day, we decided to warn Atul that we were moving out tomorrow, he said I would lose money and you should pay me for two days without staying here. We left the room after staying there for three days, despite the fact that we had paid for 4 days. When we left the room with the suitcase, he blocked our passage. As a result, we left without spending our paid days there. Atul is a greedy hotelier. We crossed the Lahma Lakshman Jhula Bridge and found a beautiful hotel for 1200 rupees 4 times less in value with a wonderful hotelier in a quiet location. India is so amazing, but don't stay with him. The poor guys who work for him.
In the quieter Laksham Jhula area. View on the Ganga. Clean room. Friendly staff. Good food in the restaurant.

Atul and his staff were wonderfully helpful. I don't usually need much help from a hotel, but I had a medical issue and Atul was sincerely interested and helpful. I am very grateful for him! Thank you.

Only minor was the that the room had no window towards the outside
One of the best stay ever in Rishikesh. This is the first time i stay with The Peninsula but trust me it js no less than five star hotel. The service is too good especially the owner Mr. Atul. He connection to everyone personally. We book non view rooms but still room was so neat and clean which i didn't expect. The food was so hygienic and tasty specially their rooftop cafe and Indian Restaurant.
Will definitely recommend this property to everyone.

My room had a great view of the Ganga and a balcony. Atul provided outstanding service and went above and beyond to make my stay a comfortable one. For example, I was cold in my room (given the December weather) so he got a nice comforter and a heater for me. The food at both the hotel restaurant and the rooftop cafe was really delicious. The location in Lakshman Jhula is close to restaurants and attractions but quieter than across the river. If you are looking for 5-star service and a feeling of luxury, book at Peninsulla!
Wi-fi was strong throughout the hotel with the exception of my room. Check with Atul if wifi strength is a concern for you and he can direct you to a good room.
