A dream destination. This is one of the finest hotels we have had the pleasure to enjoy.
Pros:

Markree Castle lives up to its fine reputation. It does not disappoint in any way. From coming in the front door to be met by a blazing fire, to the friendly staff who welcome you, to the amazing bedrooms with large comfortable beds, this is a wonderful experience. And there is a giant wolf hound who wanders amidst the splendid sitting rooms and bars. What could be better? We went exploring and ended up having tea and delicious scones in the scullery. The dining room was spectacular and the food was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were a delight. We had a great time.

Cons:

What didn't we like? That we had to leave. This is a great place to enjoy. The setting is exceptional and the staff were fantastic. We will be back.

Absolutely lovely stay in a magnificent Castle hotel.
Pros:

Superb hotel, we really enjoyed our stay here, The food was exceptional. Lovely grounds and gardens and a lovely room.

Cons:

A very minor issue was we had no connection to Netflix, reception said they'd send somebody but they forgot. I fixed it myself by googling the issue!

I wish we could’ve had a longer stay. This property transports you and makes your feel as though you’re royalty!

Wonderful castle stay experience
Pros:

Markree felt extremely authentic, especially compared to some other castles we booked. The hotel interior and grounds were absolutely beautiful, as were the views from our room and the dining room. Walking around the interior of the castle.

Stunning venue you have to try!
Pros:

Stunning property that I adored exploring and wandering around. I stayed here last minute for a birthday treat and was assigned a beautiful room with free standing bath overlooking the gardens.
It’s quiet, relaxing and I loved the SMEG tea and coffee facilities.
Breakfast was gorgeous and coffee great too.
Can’t wait to come back!

Cons:

There isn’t much to dislike. The only thing to note is that it’s predominantly a wedding venue so I was promptly ‘kicked out’ the following day as the venue was exclusively hired - would’ve been nice to hang around a little longer but that can’t be helped.

Dinner was a very formal affair and would have like less formal options / room service
