Glitz Marriott

This is an absolutely incredible place to stay just minutes from the beautiful rainforest reserve. The hosts are more than wonderful, we were welcomed from our long drive with tea and 7 delicious homemade curries and salads. Ananda took us on an exceptional trek through the forest (snacks, leech socks etc. all provided for), where we spotted an abundance of wildlife from snakes to monitor lizards, from frogs to monkeys. We walked slowly and quietly and so were able to see things others might miss - he really knows the flora and fauna of his home. The hostess prepared another unbelievably delicious lunch for our return, and it felt like we were welcomed home. The room is super spacious with air conditioning and good wifi; we wish we could’ve stayed longer at this peaceful place in the jungle with this wonderful family.

Staying at Glitz Marriott in Deniyaya felt much less like booking accommodation and much more like being welcomed into someone’s home in the middle of the jungle.

Ananda, our host and jungle guide, together with his family, created a genuinely warm and relaxed atmosphere from the first moment. We stayed directly next to their house in our own apartment, which gave us privacy while still feeling very connected to the place and the people who live there.

Ananda guided us through the rainforest and shared an incredible amount of knowledge about the forest, animals, and plants. You can really feel how much he loves the place he calls home.

The food deserves a special mention. Every meal was freshly cooked by the family and was honestly some of the best Sri Lankan food we had during our trip.

The location itself is beautiful – surrounded by nature, quiet, green, and peaceful. The rooms were very clean and well cared for, which made the whole stay even more comfortable.

If you’re visiting the rainforest near Deniyaya and want something authentic rather than a generic hotel experience, this place is truly special. We arrived as travelers and left feeling like we had experienced a very special part of Sri Lankan hospitality.

We stayed at the Glitz Marriott for one night. Our wonderful host and guide, Ananda, gave us such a memorable experience in the short time we spent there. We arrived around noon and Ananda, as our guide, gave us the most amazing 4hr tour of the rainforest which was amazing!!! After that, he prepared the most delicious dinner with many dishes. Our room was spacious and very clean. When visiting Sinharaja Rain Forest, stay at the Glitz Marriott. Ananda, thank you so much for the memories!! Lonnie

The room was big with enough place to move around. The bed big and comfortable with mosquito net. A new bathroom and new air conditioning.
The food very tasty, the portions are huge. Not possible to finish it.
The guesthouse is situated about 2-3km from the entrance of Sinharaja Forest. It is also close to the river, which is a nice walk.

It was a different kind of Marriott than the name suggests, on the contrary, very traditional 🙂 But the people were super nice, they give u so much food u cannot eat. Going to the jungle was gorgeous.

Vi har simpelthen været SUPER heldige med denne indkvartering.

Vi lagde tydelig vægt på, at vi ikke kunne spise mere stærkt mad, hvilket mange srilankaner har svært ved at efterleve.
Men ikke her :D
Vi valgte at spise alt vores mad her, fordi de de var VIRKELIG GODE til at lave mad, der kan spises uden at det brænder i hele munden, hvilket betød ALT for os.

Vi fik også en fantastisk oplevelse med værten Ananda, som er guide i den lokale regnskov, hvor han gav os en noget bedre oplevelse end flest andre vi mødte samme dag, hvor de bare fløj forbi os, fordi de andre UNGE guider havde travlt modsat Ananda, som er barnefødt i området og virkelig lod os se EN MASSE forskellige "tropiske dyr" og kunne forklare en masse om både dyr, forhold, planter og vidste hvor alle gemmestederne var 😍 Vi var fyldt op med oplevelser!!! Har ikke ord for alt det vi oplevede.
Min mand var sløj da vi ankom og havde i dagevis inden vi kom, haft voldsom diarre og opkastning, som ikke ville aftage .. Familien tilbød at kører ham til lægen.
Vi takkede og min mand fik både antibiotika, jern tabletter, samt elektrolytter, som familien doserede, hvor de ved siden af lavede skånsom kost, som de vidste ville hjælpe (ris suppe) som vi gav et forsøg, hvilket hjalp min mand meget 🙏🏾❤️

Vi kan slet ikke takke nok, for deres meget omsorgsfulde måde at være på, for al den himmelske mad, krydret med et meget gentle touch så alle, selv babyer kunne spise maden, men alligevel med meget smag!!! EMINENT 😘👌🏾

Det eneste negative jeg kan skrive, er at der mangler en svaber til badeværelses gulvet, efter bad ;)

Kan varmt anbefales, alene fordi familien er så varmblodige og virkelig ægte i alt hvad de laver <3

Selv da vi tog afsted og ville tidlig afsted, fik vi en fin madpakke med, som vi kunne spise ved vores første stop på vej videre...

Virkelig en oplevelse, at prøve ❤️

Ce qui a retenu notre attention c est la famille avec leurs sourire et leurs chaleur.
Le propriétaire est également un guide expert qui connaît bien la forêt.
Ne pas oublier la bouffe de grande qualité des aliments frais et santé.
Je recommande fortement cet endroit lors de votre séjour a Sinharja.

Amazing place with a lovely host and delicious food. Best place to stay when you want to explore the Sinharaja Forest!

The place feels really authentic, with amazing and friendly personal treatment. It’s in a great spot, right near the rainforest. Plus, Annanda, the owner, personally guides the visit, making it extra special and personal.
And I want to highlight the exceptional food that they prepare the curry it is amazing.

We arrived very late at this magical place which was very close to the park entrance and they cooked us dinner, everything was delicious and the family was truly welcoming. The cleanest house we've found so far and an atmosphere that makes you feel at home.

De medewerkers en gids waren fantastisch. Ontzettend lieve mensen die met alle liefde je kennis lieten maken met de natuur en omgeving en keer op keer voorzien in een goed gevulde tafel met heerlijke maaltijden!

The place is new and the host take care about you and want to be sure you are happy. The place is nice the bed comfortable and with hot water.
The dinner and breakfast were delicious

Probably the best accommodation in Sri lanka. Very beautiful room, clean. Very kind and nice owner,who is also guide in the forest. Also the breakfast was amazing.

The room is nice, but what makes this place special, is Mr. Anandas competence as a guide, his kindness and the exeptional food of his wife

I had a great stay at the Glitz Marriott. Ananda and his family are great hosts, really nice, attentive and excellent cooks. I originally planned to stay one night but extended my stay.

The room was large, clean and quiet. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea can be taken on the covered terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding rice fields.

Ananda is also a very good guide, we did an expedition in the Sinharaja forest and saw a lot of animals. Ananda also organised a visit to a tea factory and took me to see the beautiful surrounding countryside.

We had an amazing experience staying at Glitz Marriott near Sinharaja Rainforest. The location is perfect, just a short walk away from the rainforest, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in nature. Our guide, Mr. Amanda, was exceptional. He has a keen eye for spotting even the smallest of animals and was very patient, making sure we could enjoy the rainforest at a peaceful pace. He also took the time to capture great pictures for us and was incredibly friendly throughout our trek.

The food at the hotel was delicious! We enjoyed the homemade Sri Lankan dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The flavors were authentic and the prices were reasonable. The room itself was beautiful—cozy, clean
and set against the backdrop of lush greenery. It felt like a peaceful retreat, with the sounds of birds and the tranquility of the rural setting adding to the experience. The room was newly built, well-equipped and very comfortable with great lighting and a serene atmosphere. I even celebrated my fiancé’s birthday during our stay and the whole experience made it extra special.

We highly recommend Glizt Marriott for anyone looking for a peaceful, nature-filled getaway. The combination of excellent service, beautiful surroundings and authentic Sri Lankan cuisine made our stay unforgettable.

We like everything about the place. Great hospitality. Room is newly built and all the equipments in side the room is very quality. Comfy beds, great lightning located in a very calm and quite environment.
