Serenity Hotel

In de avond geen fijne wandeling in je eentje vanaf het centrum. Taxi’s en scooters kunnen later op de avond niet meer naar het hotel vanwege het tij. Voor ons geen probleem, we hadden gewoon de scooter net voor de afgang naar het strand neergezet en liepen de rest

No me gustó que la zona del baño no tuviera puertas... es solamente con cortinas, no tiene mucha privacidad. Al menos eran cortinas blancas y no se sentía tan sucio. La ubicación es un aspecto importante ya que para llegar solamente puedes a través de la playa, si saliste a comer o de fiesta, a cierta hora la marea sube y no puedes pasar con un tuktuk... toca caminar y son como 20 minutos por una zona oscura.

Un petit peu de bruit de la route (tuk tuk) et des voisins… mais rien de mal car très calme la nuit !

There are a few reasons for the lower score:
- We booked two tours at the front desk. I paid for both tours (or at least that's what I remember) and asked for a receipt, which I was told was not necessary. After we completed the second tour, we were asked to pay for it again, but of course I had no proof that it had already been paid for. The staff said they would check the CCTV whilst we went into town to got money (only accepted cash) for it, but upon return they just said 'you have to pay'. No CCTV footage was shown to us, despite the promise. We ended up having to pay, but with no proof that this was justified. If you stay here, make sure you ask for receipts of extras that you pay for.
- The tap in the basin was missing the handle, the soap dispenser was faulty and oozed liquid in every direction when pressed (not hard to buy a new one!!), the handle of the shower indicated H/C the wrong way, leading to cold showers on the first day. Bathroom smelt bad. On our second stay we were not given hand towels or toilet paper.
- The owner of the hotel was occupying the 'good' room with beautiful, quiet views over the green forest, whilst we were given the front room, with views over construction and the busy street!!!
- On one of the nights there was a generator that ran all night, very loudly. I know you just have to deal with these things, as they are sometimes out of control of the property, but still, we were ill and it just made sleeping difficult and unpleasant.
If a little more care was taken, this would really be a great place to stay and worth the money.

The location was in Calaan, off downtown, at high tide you have to wade on the beach to get to the access road.

Le prix 87 euros la nuit les draps étaient usés et commencer a se déchirer dommage qu il y ai pas le petit déjeuner pas d explication comme pour l eau qu il fallait aller chercher a l accueil 2 disette de café pour 3 nuits passer a 87 euros la nuit j avais espérer un peu mieux la plage a côté impossible de se baigner

Manques un p'tit table poser des affaires dans la salle de bain et manque aussi pour sécher les serviettes de plage.

L’emplacement de l’hôtel est vraiment à demie teinte, à la fois cela est agréable car vous êtes à 15 minute de marche du centre ville de El nido
Mais par contre l’accès à l’hôtel en tuktuk avec vos valise est vraiment compliquer car vous devez longer la plage ( sur le sable ) puis prendre un chemin chaotique c’est très très compliqué et le soir avec la marée haute, les tuktuk ne peuvent plus passer

Access to the main town is restricted by the tide covering road along the beach. Approximately 2 hours per day.

Man sollte wissen, dass man abends ueber den Strand zur Unterkunft muss. Bei Flut ist dieser leicht ueberschwemmt sodass man ein kleines Stueck barfuss gehen sollte. Uns hat das aber nicht gestoert. Im Bad riecht es manchmal unangenehm (vermutlich durch die Abfluesse). Das Personal haben wir leider als nicht sehr willkommensfreundlich und herzlich empfunden (ist es besonders negativ aufgefallen, da es sonst auf den Philippinen ueberall komplett anders war). Wir hatten ueber das Hotel einen Schuttle vom Puerto Flughafen bestellt und die Flugnr durchgegeben. Unser Abflug hat sich allerdings um 30 Minuten verspaetet. Der Shuttle hat nicht auf uns gewartet und wir haben auch keine Nachricht erhalten. Im Hotel haben wir niemanden mehr erreicht, da es schon abends war. Die spontane Umplanung war ziemlich hektisch und chaotisch. Wir haben uns noch selbst etwas organsieren koennen und konnten unser Zimmer nachts noch beziehen, Auf unsere ganzen Nachrichten hat sich aber selbst am naechsten Tag niemand gekuemmert und am Ende wurde uns noch gesagt es war unsere Schuld, da wir nicht Bescheid gegeben haben. Unsere Fluege haben sich staendig verspaetet. Genau dafuer gibt man ja auch die Flugnr durch. Sehr aergerliche Erfahrung und auch danach keine besonders gute Kommunikation. Deswegen haben wir uns auch nicht 100% wohl gefuehlt und wuerden beim naechsten Mal eher eine andere Unterkunft waehlen.
