You can order fresh buns for your breakfast at the reception. If you don't want to be bound to your car while siteseeing, you can easily reach the place by bus from Bad Schandau.
Perfekt!!!
Fantastic place in Mittelndorf with a unique location at the end of a side road with magnificent views over the area. The place is both cabins and a small campsite, so well visited by hikers and other guests, but still quiet and peaceful with a good "vibe". Our apartment was very spacious (we were three adults, four children and a dog) with a very large area with kitchen, dining area and sofa area and smaller bedrooms upstairs (the place is not suitable for people with walking difficulties, as the stairs up to the bedrooms are steep and narrow). The kitchen is well equipped and nice with two toilets/bathrooms with linen and towels.
Access to the apartment is via slightly rickety stairs via a small terrace, which could probably soon be in need of an overhaul.
Es gab Brötchen Service was angenehm war
Lage gut Wanderwege direkt vorm Haus
Super Aussicht
Puiki vieta, butas jaukus ir švarus, virtuvėje buvo visos priemonės pasigaminti valgyti, smagu pasędėti terasoje.
After arriving on the night train and riding up into the hills on hired mountain bikes to get here, we were able to check in early which was a blessed relief! (Note - The route that Google maps gave us on our bikes went off-road, and we had to walk part of the way uphill as it was too steep to ride the mountain trail, especially with our backpacks. You can also catch a local bus to the village to get here).
The apartment was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The kids spent most of their time outside roaming up the hiking paths or riding their bikes up and down the hilly streets in the quiet village. This accommodation is on the edge of the village near the top of a hill and the view is lovely out towards the forests and mountains. We came in early spring and the trees were just starting to green up so I can see it would be even more spectacular in late spring and through summer and autumn. There were probably a dozen or so campers at all stages of life using the grounds with their tents and vans, as well as others staying in apartments, and it was peaceful with a feeling of camaraderie, no loud voices or music, just people chilling and a few kids roaming around doing kid stuff.
This village and accommodation was a big contrast to Bad Schandau, which was literally crawling with cars and tourists (we were there over the Easter long weekend), and we were so glad we had not stayed in town but on this calming and chill mountainside.
My poor preparation - I didn't realise there was no grocery shop in the village so just when we thought we were settled, I had to go out again and catch one of the hourly buses back to Bad Schandau to get groceries for dinner and breakfast. I took the key and locked the door behind me, which I didn't realise at the time locked everyone else in, so they were stuck there until I returned a couple of hours later. The mobile reception was also dubious, between us we had 4 phones on global roaming, 3 of our phones had locked onto the same local carrier with no reception there, but the 4th locked to a different carrier that did have coverage, so the other 3 of us had to go through the process to manually select that carrier or we would have had no coverage the whole time. Obviously you're not really here to spend time online but it's still good to have access.
Very pleasant accommodation with a perfect view of the surroundings from the terrace. The staff at the reception was very nice to guide us to our apartment. Being able to use the sauna was just a very nice addition that we had no idea about.
Super clean and comfortable apartment. Fully equipped kitchen. Great Location.
Sauna was closed and also cost an additional 10 euro which was not clear in the booking.
Nice nature around.
