Moonside Rooms

Nothing what so ever, the place really shouldn’t be open right now, it seems as though with it being bought and changed into moonside rooms, the smell is horrendous, it smells of musty mould, walking through the front door, it really does need more than a makeover, there was marks over the walls, the bedding had stains on it, there was mould in the bathroom, the silicone was extremely shoddy, the sink was coming of the wall, the tv had no aerial, the outside view was like looking at a tip yard, but from what it seems, it used to be an old door, to which was cut in half, used as a window with the bottom of the door boarded up. The headboard has marks all over it and stains, the shower curtain has mould over it, there really is no care taken, and to top it off, we were supposed to be in a room with the bath, and got told it should be ready the next day, as it was down due to maintenance, I tried calling the hotel as we needed new towels, as they was also stained, there was no toilet roll either, whilst being downstairs and calling at the same time, the phone just kept ringing and ringing, whilst there, there was others who was not happy either, there was a family that could not get in the front door, they didn’t even get told there door number. From looking online, the place is up for sale again, there was also blood on one of the pillowcases and the mirror on the wall, the pictures on booking.com, look absolutely nothing like we was expecting what so ever, both me and my partner had to go to tescos to buy some bleach, air freshener and some sponges, and even so, some fresh sheets, and a quilt, and it was also freezing, even with the window shut, and the curtains. The radiator doesn’t work neither. Tea/coffee pot, dirty as anything, a dead fly in the cup next to the kettle, ants on the bed.

We told the staff the bathroom door was broken, they told us someone would fix it the next day, never heard anything about it.

We asked for extra towels, the cleaner would bring them they told us, we never got any…

We stayed for 5 nights, they never cleaned our rooms once..

Check in at 4pm and nowhere to put bags until then. Very very dirty, both the building itself and the room. Bedding and sheets had crumbs in and the pillows were incredibly flat. Very bad back after stay.

Took 10mins to get key combination to get in. Shabby place, not clean in most of it. Shower door is a joke, botched up, wouldn't come again 👎

If im honest there were a few bad bits aswell
. Firstly i think the quadruple rooms should be on the bottom as even i struggled with the 3 flights of stairs and it smelt quite musky upon entry, and the stairs could of done with some hoovering. There were a few broken drawers in room and the windows and frame badly needed cleaning. The bathroom floor wasnt laid properly, it was pulling up in the corners and there was some holes, some filled some not so much. The gardens needed weeding as it was becoming a trip hazard. But like i said it was somewhere for us to rest only so it was OK, but if you intend to stay in your hotel room more often than not, then id pay the extra price for a better star hotel.
