Beautiful area
Pros:

The area was so pretty

Cons:

The man at reception hit us instantly with we will need your credit card and check out is 10am before we’d put our bags down found he was rather rude rest of the staff were great

FABULOUS, THIS ICONIC PUB LIVES UP TO ITS REPUTATION WELL WORTH A VISIT
Pros:

THIS IS AN ICONIC PLACE AND VERY POPULAR. I LOVED THAT WE COULD BOOK ACCOMMODATION HERE. THE BEER GARDEN WITH HUGE OPEN FIRE WAS FABULOUS ON A COLD NIGHT. THE OPEN FIRE AND LOUGES INSIDE WERE GREAT TO MOVE TO ONCE THE SUN WENT DOWN. THE MEAL WAS GOOD AND THE ROOMS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. FREINDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF.

Cons:

NOTHING, IT WAS BETTER THAN I EXPECTED.

The bar is really lovely - fire place, great atmosphere. Beautiful garden. Food fab too. Comfortable bed.

Cons:

The room was super tiny, which was fine, as we were only stopping through for 1 night, however the bathroom needs a full renovation, and the TV must have been at least 40 years old - rather impressed that it still actually worked LOL. Recommend to choose one of the larger rooms, which we have stayed in before previously, that are lovely. Still a fab little spot with lots of history, and will stay again.

Great stop over on way, would be great when they have their outdoor events
Pros:

Historical, had lovely dinner and breakfast although we thought it was a little pricey, staff very friendly and the log fire with mulled wine was nice.

Cons:

Closed early as it was Sunday, nothing to do after 8pm

Pros:

Everything was perfect from the lovely room to the log fire in the bar area to the fabulous dinner in the restaurant. The staff were awesome and made the whole experience a lovely way to celebrate our anniversary.

Iconic hotel and location, clean, great facilities with the bar & restaurant, Hot tub was an added bonus.

Cons:

T.V and digital channels were unclear/ static with glitchy WIFI - I guess stuck in the middle of the mountains would do this - not a complaint as it is Iconic, and to say I've stayed there is more important - but for the next traveller wanting good WIFI, be prepared.
