A comfortable, well-run hotel with great staff—an ideal base for exploring Axum
Pros:

The room was spacious, clean, and had a very comfy bed. The hotel has a great bar and restaurant with both local and Western food, plus free WiFi that actually worked. Staff were super helpful and spoke good English. The manager, Legesse, went above and beyond when a tour company forgot me, he got it sorted within the hour. Airport pickup and a private tour were all arranged smoothly. I also appreciated being able to exchange dollars at the front desk and get honest advice on how much I’d need for the trip. Overall, a safe, welcoming base in Axum.

Cons:

No hot water in the shower, but that’s pretty normal in the region. There were a couple of power cuts too, so I avoided using the lift just in case. Also, the hotel is a bit outside the town center, not ideal if you want to be right in the middle of local life, but not a huge issue if you're after comfort and peace of mind.
