Pros:

Un vrai coup de cœur pour cet endroit ! Le cadre est magnifique, avec une vue superbe et beaucoup de calme. La décoration intérieure est également très réussie et apporte énormément de charme au lieu.

Le personnel est adorable, très accueillant, disponible et aux petits soins. Nous avons vraiment apprécié toutes les attentions : le cocktail de bienvenue, le goûter, l’aide pour organiser les activités, ainsi que les Vespas et les kayaks à disposition.

La literie est très confortable et les repas étaient vraiment délicieux. Entre la vue, le calme, les activités et la gentillesse du personnel, tout était réuni pour passer un excellent séjour.

Merci encore pour votre accueil et votre professionnalisme. Je reviendrais avec grand plaisir !

A feast for the eyes
Pros:

The lodge is incredibly located at the tip of a peninsula, with beautiful unobstructed views onto the Lake Kivu islands. It’s very peaceful. The owners, Aisha and Ivan, welcome you as into their home and the staff are all lovely (shout out to Napoleon and Emmanuel!) The vesper tour is a particularly cool addition to your stay, and the kayaks are also a great way of exploring the surroundings.

Cet endroit est juste magique ! Le lodge est splendide et décoré avec goût ! Les patrons sont aux petits soins pour leurs clients et ont formé le personnel pour qu’il délivre un service de haute qualité ! Les patrons respectent et aident aussi la population locale !

I spent two wonderful nights at Umurobyi Lodge in Kibuye and was deeply impressed from the very first moment. The owners gave me such a warm and genuine welcom. Their attention to every detail made my stay truly special. The full-board arrangement was perfect, with delicious meals carefully prepared and beautifully presented each day.

The lodge itself is majestic yet cozy, offering a touch of luxury within a warm, family-style atmosphere. It truly feels like a home away from home. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking (Lake Kivu shimmering at sunrise, swimming cows along the shore, and the mysterious beauty of Bat Island nearby).

A big thank-you to the entire team for making my stay unforgettable. I cannot wait to return!

Looking for peace, tranquility and great food…this is the place to be.

Nice, quiet property with lake view and a beautiful garden. A great place if you are looking for peace and tranquility.

Driving from the capital to the hotel is a challenge.

Cons:

Prices are definitely at the very top end for Rwanda. With hindsight we realised there are other hotels with exceptional locations in this beautiful country, at softer prices.

We had a wonderful stay and seriously considered extending by another night
Pros:

The views from every single part of the property were gorgeous. The service was extremely tailored and the food was excellent. The host Joelle was a highlight and always a made sure our every need was met. The views from the room are spectacular and there’s lots of activities you can do in and around the property

Cons:

Being that we were in nature, there were a few bugs that came into the room but there’s nothing the lodge can do about that! We are in nature!
