I spent two wonderful nights at Umurobyi Lodge in Kibuye and was deeply impressed from the very first moment. The owners gave me such a warm and genuine welcom. Their attention to every detail made my stay truly special. The full-board arrangement was perfect, with delicious meals carefully prepared and beautifully presented each day.

The lodge itself is majestic yet cozy, offering a touch of luxury within a warm, family-style atmosphere. It truly feels like a home away from home. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking (Lake Kivu shimmering at sunrise, swimming cows along the shore, and the mysterious beauty of Bat Island nearby).

A big thank-you to the entire team for making my stay unforgettable. I cannot wait to return!

The views from every single part of the property were gorgeous. The service was extremely tailored and the food was excellent. The host Joelle was a highlight and always a made sure our every need was met. The views from the room are spectacular and there’s lots of activities you can do in and around the property

I’ve stayed at many places in Rwanda but this by far is the best. It’s obviously on the pricey side but it was worth every cent. The food was amazing, the views from every angle were incredible and the staff really made you feel welcomed and well taken care of. I will definitely coming back.

Everything was amazing. We received an exceptional welcome, the food was healthy and delicious, and we got all the assistance we needed for touring. My kids loved the lodge and all the activities they experienced, including cruising on Lake Kivu, swimming, enjoying the fishermen experience, and of course, playing cards. We had an unforgettable time. The owners, Aicha and Ivan, are incredibly kind and caring. It was a wonderful vacation. Umurobyi is a peaceful and quiet place - with a great view, perfect for relaxing and unwinding.

The views are immaculate! The heart and soul is truly the staff. Joelle, the manager, is an absolute a gem! The food is delicious, Jean is an incredible chef who goes out of his way to accommodate special requests and comes out and helps make your dining experience special. There’s truly nothing like this property. It’s a home they turned into a hotel and it’s so intimate. We will definitely be back!!

Simply the best. We loved the modern fresh architecture. Stunning views from beautiful rooms with air conditioning and lovely linens. If you like to swim, the lake water is beautiful and the pool is lovely. Kayaks are new and nice. We went out with the local fisherman one night which the hotel arranged and it was so interesting and fun. Lovely area to walk outside the property. Wonderful meals prepared and served when requested with grace and style. The entire staff, without exception, is friendly, helpful and attentive. Simply the best!

Best accommodation during our entire trip to Rwanda - an amazingly large room with an unbeatable view of Lake Kivu right from the bed. Absolute cleanliness everywhere. Staff great, arranged all possible excursions for us around the area, including fishing with local fishermen. The food was absolutely top notch. Possibility to use the kayaks for free.
