Important information:

Due to changes in the winds and the flow of the ocean, certain months of the year December, January, February and half of march our beach has weeds. This might limit your access in terms of swimming but around 656 feet from us the beach starts to clear. We hope to still accommodate you during this time as we have a beautiful large pool and view.
A deposit may be required at the property.

Pros:

This hotel is a hidden gem. The peaceful, secluded setting is perfect for unwinding and the staff go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. I felt at home immediately and left feeling refreshed and relaxed. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm and welcoming retreat.

Ein Juwel abseits vom Trubel in Diani – wer wirklich Ruhe sucht, ist hier richtig
Pros:

Ich habe mich bei Antonia und ihrem Team sehr wohl gefühlt. Eine Oase der Ruhe abseits des Trubels von Diani. Die tägliche Papaya im Kühlschrank, das frische Brot, und als Souvenir habe ich ein Glas selbst gemachte Maracuja-Marmeldade mit nach Hause genommen. 100% Empfehlung!

Exceptional Service, Incredible Food, and Total Tranquility

We had a wonderful stay in Diani Beach, and what truly made it special was the incredibly service‑minded and friendly staff. They went above and beyond in everything they did, and since we were almost the only guests at the time, we received full attention in the best possible way.

The food was absolutely amazing - every meal felt thoughtful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is the perfect spot. The atmosphere is calm, relaxed, and ideal for unwinding.

It’s worth noting that the beach right outside has quite a bit of seaweed, so it’s not the best place for swimming. But if your priority is tranquility, great service, and fantastic food, this place delivers on all of it.

Ottima struttura, personale cordiale e molto disponibile. Torneremo sicuramente.
Pros:

Ci sono piaciuti molto la posizione, proprio sul mare, il giardino, ben curato, la piscina, la cucina attrezzata e fornita del necessario per preparare una buona colazione, la disponibilità dello staff che ci ha aiutato ad organizzare le nostre giornate. Ottimo il ristorante

Cons:

Purtroppo nei mesi di dicembre e gennaio la spiaggia di fronte alla struttura è ricoperta da uno strato spesso di alghe che la rende inaccessibile

Small piece of paradise
Pros:

Sonrisa is a hidden gem..tranquil, quite, serene,peaceful,name it! The Estate is small and intimate making the staff have an eye to detail. The villas are exceptionally clean and tastefully furnished. I loved the fact that they provide breakfast substitutes for you to prepare at your own time...so no need to rush for breakfast. The location is far off Diani, but that was not a problem. The hotel is kid friendly and my son had a blast staying there. The meals are extremely tasty....the list is endless. Sonrisa EXCEEDED my expectations. Antonia is kind and very helpful. We loved our stay and cant wait to come back soon.

Terrible and left after the first night.

Cons:

There is no beach as advertised and the ocean is black sludge so you cannot get in. They said I had to walk several kilometers through the black sludge to use a beach farther up the coast. I arrived at 7:30 pm and left the next morning when I saw there wasn’t a beach or ocean as advertised. No food or drinks available after 7pm until 10 am the next day. This is total fraud!! The hotel is nothing like the pictures or descriptions. I lost one full day of my vacation and had to spend another $400 to get to a new hotel. I should receive a refund since I didn’t stay due to the fraud and deception of the advertisement. Booking.com needs to eliminate this hotel from their search. Fraud! Misrepresentation! Look at the pictures I took of the black sludge, electric fence, no beach

Loved the experience.
Pros:

We loved having the property to ourselves and being treated like friends by Antonia and everyone else of the staff. The place is beautiful out of the noise of the bars and restaurants that are north of the property. Spacious villas, nice pool and comfy sunbeds. They replenished our fridge every day with fruits and eggs and left us fresh bread. We also got a lovely candlelit dinner by the pool, all excellently cooked. Ask Antonia for activities nearby (snorkeling, water sports, excursions) and she will advise and organize on your behalf too. Would certainly rebook.

Cons:

Sonrisa is south of the Diani Beach Centre so one needs to drive on a bumpy road for some 10 minutes. And I think it would be good to sort out the issue of drinking water by using water filters (totally respect the property’s striving to reduce single use plastic products). The sun chairs at the beach are in a beautiful position but access to the sea could be made a little easier.

Pros:

A very pleasant place with very welcoming staff, nice big and comfortable room in a lovely garden. Beautiful views up and down the coast.

Cons:

The sea is rocky and not terribly easy to access, you have to walk along the coast a few hundred meters. It's a lovely walk, so I would still go back and stay with great pleasure.
