If at all possible, stay somewhere else. Not worth saving $100

The property was close to town. That was the only good thing.

Cons:

The smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night and there was no staff there to respond or direct guests. We stood outside in the cold with our two small kids for about an hour not knowing what was going on. This subsequently ruined our following day because we slept terribly, especially the kids who were very upset about the unexpected alarm in the night.
Regarding the property, the water pressure was terrible, the water was scalding hot, there were spider webs, and the beds were very uncomfortable. Two of the initial rooms we were directed to were not yet cleaned from prior guests. We couldn’t figure out how to use the heat and never saw staff after we checked in.

For the premium price we paid for two nights, this was a very disappointing experience.
Pros:

The location was excellent. The staff were friendly.

Cons:

The bathroom was tiny. No room to put your clothes when taking a shower. The shower was a disaster. Either too hot or too cold. Worst of all the toilet seat was broken. There wasn’t even a waste bin in our room apart from a tiny one in the bathroom. One of the bedside lights wasn’t working. No cups or anything that one could have a drink out off.

A great visit to Kilkenny during the Arts Festival, reasonably priced accommodation,good location.
Pros:

Bed very comfortable. Large quiet room. Lovely bathroom.Staff very pleasant.

Cons:

No bed side lights, no mirror in the bathroom, no towel rails, no chair in the bed room, just a stool, a coffee machine that came with no instructions. In fairness, a member of staff came to demonstrate the coffee machine and provided a chair on request. A kettle was provided on day two of a three day stay. We never managed to get the t.v to work either.

I recommend
Pros:

The location is great. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The staff is really helpful, I was really well welcomed. The reception is amazing.

First room we were given was full of take out cartons and drink cups, floor was filthy, not cleaned after last customer. Then we were given a room on floor two. Ceiling in room had damp and mould. Large mould clustered around the shower vent too. Towels felt damp to the touch. Towel for shower entrance hadn’t been changed. Room seemed clean. Then at 10am next morning two people entered the room with their luggage after checking in, while we were in bed. Didn’t even complain at reception, just wanted out of there by the end of it. Thankfully we only had a one night stay booked.
