Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hat nicht gepasst.
Pros:

Die Unterkunft liegt sehr zentrumsnah und dennoch ruhig. Durch den weitläufigen Garten ist es sehr ruhig und keine Straßengeräusche hörbar. Parkplätze für Gäste sind vorhanden. Das Hotel selbst ist sehr hellhörig und daher abhängig von Gästen der umliegenden Zimmer, ob es ruhig bleibt.

Cons:

Die Zimmer sind sehr spartanisch eingerichtet. Auf den Zimmern gibt z.B. keinen Föhn. In den nachträglich eingezogenen Badezimmerkabinen in Leichtbauweise kommen Haken und Regalbretter allmählich aus den Wänden, an den Duschkabinen sammelt sich Feuchtigkeitsschimmel und der Abfluss der Toilette ist so unsauber in der Wand angebracht, dass dort ein Loch ist. Alles in allem ist es sehr unsauber im Zimmer und auf den Fluren. Sehr schade, denn aufgrund der Beschreibungen haben wir uns deutlich mehr versprochen.

Great staff, however building in need of upgrade.

Smell of mould from bathroom. Bottled water was half empty on arrival. Overall property needed renovation.

I’d definitely stay here again if travelling to Cork city.. It felt like a treat
Pros:

Lovely Georgian features in beautiful grounds with pretty views. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Liked the little touches in the room like the water trays and quality hand lotion. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Tiny niggles. Couldn’t find any Irish tv channels only satellite stations or Netflix. (I missed the traitor’s Ireland). It’s a pity there is no restaurant or bar service available although they don’t mind bringing food or takeaway in because of this. Instructions on using the coffee machine would be useful. If getting the bus from the city centre the stop is close by but due to a one way system the stop for the return journey is at least 15 minute walk up a hill for anyone with mobility issues.

Schön, aber nicht ganz praktisch
Pros:

Sehr schönes altes Haus, steilische Zimmer, schöner Garten und schöne Lage

Cons:

Leider fehlt im Zimmer ein Schrank oder wenigstens ein Regal, im Bad fehlen Möglichkeiten um Handtücher aufzuhängen

Prachtig, ruim, gastvrij voor een hele goede orijs
Pros:

Opstartend hotel in een goed gerenoveerde Manorhouse in het dorpje Freshford, 20 minuten rijden vanaf Kilkenny. Met een prachtige en verzorgde luxe aandoende inrichting in antieke stijl en pvc houtlook en een moderne badkamer met gouden kranen en ruime (regen en hand) douche. Van de 3 manor houses waarin ik heb geslapen, de meest moderne en smaakvolste. Ontvangst flexibel en hartelijk. Lekker matras en enorm groot bed (voor 3 personen zou ik zeggen, er pasten 3 kussens naast elkaar). Makkelijk te vinden als je de postcode in Maps invoert. Goede en snelle communicatie. Het rijkste ontbijt dat ik in Ierland heb gehad (tussen 7 en 10 meen ik). Lekker bed. Schoon. Er is een onbijtkamer waar je de hele dag door koffie en thee kunt pakken, en een soort loungekamer. Het ligt op een rustige plek, naast een kerk die niet meer in gebruik is. In het gebouw daarnaast wonen enkele mensen, maar daar heb je geen last van. En omringd door een enorme tuin. Het dorpje Freshford ligt op 3 minuten rijden en heeft een goede pub (om hurling te kijken, ook worden er hurling experiences aangeboden), een supermarkt en een soort cafetaria (the Brennans sisters) waar je pizza, kebab, chicken tikka e.d kunt halen. Op het pleintje er tegenover staan picknicktafels. Bij de accomodatie en in Freshford centrum ruime gratis parkeergelegenheid. En dit alles voor een erg goede prijs, zeker vergeleken met de rest van Ierland.

Cons:

Zoals dat bij een opstartend hotel gaat, zijn er nog wat kleine dingen die aandacht vragen. Zo is er geen mogelijkheid om je handoeken op te hangen in de badkamer, is het erg lastig om de gordijnen te sluiten omdat ze in een prachtige sluiting zitten, en zat er nog een kartonnetje onder een kastpoot die anders w.s. wiebelt. Maar dat doet niks af aan dat het een erg fijn verblijf is voor een goede prijs.
