Wonderfully peaceful lakeside cottage with plenty of birdlife. Location!
Pros:

Superbly situated 2 bedroom/2 bathroom cottage by very peaceful lake, ideal for birdwatching.
Also very handy to visit Wasgamuwa N.P., about 15 minutes' drive away - the property arranged a local jeep and driver for us. Traditional village location, nice to wander around - easier to find in daylight! Kind local people cooked good food for us and took us on a most enjoyable special bird walk through the village and by the lake. Owner very helpful indeed via WApp. Take your own mosi net. We would definitely return.

Cons:

We were perfectly happy with our cottage - this is not a grand hotel, it is a simple lakeside place in a village, but some visitors may have found the bathroom showing a few signs of persistent humidity!

Wildlife galore at peaceful lagoon
Pros:

Our rooms overlooked the Lagoon, which was amazing. So much nature, you could sit for hours by the Lagoon watching all the activity! Great location for going to the national park. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was nice and plentiful. If you want fabulous scenery and peace and quiet, this is the place for you.

Cons:

It could do with a few more staff to help give it the attention it deserves. Costa and Gnana do a great job, but could do with extra help. There was no WiFi as stated on booking.com.
