The property is very nice, pretty and well designed. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Whilst the hotel was very nice, it didn’t match our expectations in terms of how it is represented on the website in terms of activities and food. Everything was fine but paying a premium price of €375 a night had lead us to expect a little more. The food was fine but nothing amazing, there was no yoga as suggested on the website and sea/delta swimming not possible despite the website showing someone diving in. Some of the activities appeared astronomically expensive for what they were. Were well travelled so the hotel just didn’t represent value for money. There was a lot of hype about supporting the local community but without real facts and figures it’s hard to judge the reality of this.
Beautiful hotel with a spectacular view of the Delta Sine Saloum. Very clean and nice rooms, and pleasant staff.
Sadly the service, while pleasant, was tardy. We experienced several blackouts during the evening and night which of course also affected the aircondition. The wifi did not work at first, and even though I called reception twice, and they said both times they would send someone, nobody came. After half an hour or so, somebody called, but the problem was not solved until even later when the hotel sent someone, who called someone, who finally fixed the issue one hour later. At check-out we discovered that the buffet dinner the night before, which was ok, costs 55 euros per person – probably the most expensive buffet in Western Africa. We were not able to enjoy breakfast due to loud music, which we asked to be turned down, but it was quickly turned up again – why play loud music in a spectacular location like this where visitors come to experience the natural surroundings? The pool was not well maintained so we skipped the morning swim.
Wonderful tree houses
Extremely expensive for what it was…
