Pleasant welcome and unfailing friendliness from all staff. Excellent accommodation. Great location. OV
A little more imagination with the dinner menu. OK over two evenings but potentially tricky if staying longer.
The continental breakfast was superb, as was the flexibility of booking dinner at the hotel. The Abbey on the doorstep was a delight.
Lovely hotel in the magnificent grounds of Buckfast Abbey. Very helpful staff nothing was too much trouble for them. Accommodation and food was superb. Can't praise it highly enough.
There was nothing to dislike

Room was clean. The breakfasts were very good - lots of choice.
The evening meal on first night was not very good. My husband sent his meal back. The chicken on my salad was very tough and I had a job to cut it. We ate out at local pubs for the remainder of our stay.
We only stayed one night but the check-in was easy and the staff were excellent. We had a very nice fish and chips supper and the the continental breakfast the next morning was also very good. The room was a little on the small side and quite warm in this weather but a fan was provided and the room was neatly set out and very clean. The bathroom/shower was clean and modern and very nice. Overall, this hotel in the Abbey grounds was excellent and a great find.
The room was a little warm after summer temperatures of 25-26deg (down from last week’s 30+ deg) but the fan was adequate to keep the room comfortable at night.
We loved how quiet and serene the place was. It was a slice of heaven our room had a balcony and a view.
The pillows were as hard as a rock. I asked for them to be changed but I don’t think they had
Location, friendly staff, clean
Free car charging
Hard pillows and mattress, although staff were happy to change pillows
Good location. Electric car charging. Great staff
Room very warm - fan was provided which helped.
We have stayed here before. The hotel is in an ideal spot for when we visit relatives, the rooms are comfortable and clean and there is always space in the car park. The continental breakfast is very good. I am sure we will stay here again.
Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in one of their dog friendly rooms on the ground floor which was equipped with tea/coffee tray and a nice comfortable bed. We had a 3 peaceful nights stay. Good, plentiful continental breakfast.
Nothing really.
Breakfast was ok, but you had to pay extra for anything cooked
The receptionist on arrival was not that friendly, all other staff were friendly
The property was in a very nice setting.
The furnishings in the room were very good, storage, bed and shower. All the employees we encountered were very nice and helpful.
It was quite warm in the room, even with the fan and the windows open (and we weren’t there when it was in the mid 20s+).
The shower splatters water everywhere, so floor towel gets soaked. Hard to get and keep feet dry as the bathroom is not very large.
We really could have used a frig in the room for a 5 night stay (husband had a course in Buckfastleigh, and no lunch was provided). Had to borrow and bring a loud electric cool box. Maybe you can have a few and wheel them into a room when needed.
Staff were friendly, free parking onsite and it was clean.
The room was hot so we had to have the windows wide open and left the curtains open a little bit to get the breeze through. However, our room was by reception which was noisy when people wanted letting in and a light came on every time there was movement so we didn’t sleep well at all.
