A pleasant stay in a city with plenty of interest and excellent public transport.
Pros:

No breakfast.
Location was good for public transport and city.
Staff were friendly and helpful when available
Food in pub was very tasty and reasonably priced.

Cons:

The shower and screen could have been cleaner!
A shame I wasn't able to sample brunch as service didn^ t begin until 10am.

Could of been better
Pros:

Room was warm.

Cons:

Bath and window in bedroom really mouldy. Both need a really good clean. Old single glazed window which looked onto busy main road made noise from traffic and people talking outside a constant.

Location could be awesome but the experience isn’t

No full length mirror in the room.
Hotel is next to a busy road but quiet after peak hours

Disappointing stay
Pros:

Location was good with a bus into the city every 10 mins. Large tv wall mounted in bedroom. Good powerful shower. Kettle with tea, coffee etc provided.

Cons:

The mattress although a great size wasn't comfortable because it was lumpy and, I suspect, old. The duvet cover and pillows smelled of smoke. The whole room was shabby and needed updating. The bathroom was grimy and the floor sticky. The toilet made a horrendously loud noise each time it was flushed.

Pros:

Location is good for centre of Durham

Cons:

Cold room, no heating on, single glazed window. Our room backed onto main road and we thought the window was open because of the noise (It was closed) Mould around bathroom. Had to put kettle on floor to make tea as cable was not long enough. Breakfast not served until 10.00 so we went elsewhere.

Very disappointing. Expected our accommodation choice to elevate our stay in Durham, but it didn't.
Pros:

The bed was ok

Cons:

Very sparse, cheap decor in the bedroom. The cushions were too small for the cushion covers, the toilet leaked with each flush and ran onto the floor. The boxing around the toilet was very badly stained and the toilet brush holder was all rusty. The shower hose was way too short and the bath took ages to drain (presume blocked). The light over the bathroom sink didn't work. No staff were available on arrival, so had to wait. No lemon on the premises for a gin and tonic.

Lovely room in quiet location
Pros:

Hearty breakfast. Location about 1 mile from centre but up a quite step hill. Quiet location. Good free entertainment on Friday night.
