It's a beautiful place.
Schöne große Bungalows, Essen, Strand, Lagune alles gut zu Fuß zu erreichen.
J’ai passé 3 jours exceptionnels dans le logement de Ruwan, professeur de kitesurf passionné et d’une gentillesse incroyable. Une atmosphère détendue, un accueil chaleureux, remplie de partage et de bonnes conversations avec Ruwan et son ami Umesh !
Mention spéciale pour l’expérience unique pendant la full moon : Essayez de voir « the Rabbit moon » !

Der Besitzer war sehr freundlich und man hat sich sehr schnell wohl gefühlt! Er hat uns direkt gefragt ob wir mit ihm zum Kite Surf Spot wollen und es war wirklich sehr schön dort! Zudem war das Frühstück sehr lecker und der Garten ist auch sehr gepflegt!
A Kitelife Resort volt az eddigi 5 hetes Srí Lanka-i utazásunk alatt a kedvenc helyünk. Igazán chill hely, ahol lazulhatsz, és otthon érezheted magad. Ruwan egy elképesztően laza, easy going srác, mintha ezer éve haverok volnánk, úgy bánt velünk. Nagyon-nagyon szeretjük és köszönünk mindent!

The location was good and easy to access. The neighborhood was also quiet.
The water pressure on the showers could have been better.
Breakfast was incredible, Ruwan was so kind and provided everything we needed. He knew everything about the activities and is a devoted kite surfer.
I loved the location, the room was larger than i thought and the guy Ruwan, who runs the place is an absolute legend. We formed a good friendship during my two week stay. A genuine heart.
The kitchen facilities still need to be properly installed and cleaned. Understandably i was the first guest at the “new” kite life and there are plans for the future to renovate the kitchen and bathrooms.
The property was clean and is in an ideal position if you wish to kitesurf or chill. The owner was very friendly and he made an effort to fulfil all needs.

I recently stayed at this accommodation and, unfortunately, my experience did not meet basic expectations. While the idea of a palm-leaf roof over the bed seemed charming, it proved impractical. Every time the wind blew or birds landed on the roof, dirt and bird droppings fell directly onto the bed. I woke up covered in dirt every morning, which was quite unpleasant.
The shower setup was very basic—a simple tap sticking out of the wall—and the room was not cleaned even once during my stay. To make matters worse, there was no broom provided, so I couldn’t clean the space myself. Overall, the hygiene standards were lacking, and this is coming from someone who isn’t particularly sensitive to such issues.
Additionally, basic amenities were missing or inadequate. Towels provided were very small and didn’t smell fresh, and you’ll need to bring your own soap and shampoo.
I was traveling solo and was the only guest for a few nights, which made the place feel quite isolated. When another couple arrived, they were relocated because their bungalow roof leaked during the rain—a clear sign of poor maintenance.
The owner promised Wi-Fi, but it was never provided despite multiple requests. For $20 per night, I wasn’t expecting luxury, but I’ve stayed in much better accommodations with better service for the same price elsewhere in Sri Lanka.
Additional notes and no critique towards the accommodations but towards the area:
The roads leading to the accommodation were in poor condition—muddy with deep holes—making it risky and time-consuming (about 30 minutes) to reach any decent restaurants or bars.
Kite surfing lessons are available and seem to have good feedback from others. However, they are expensive at $50/hour, requiring 6-9 hours to complete the course. This is standard pricing, so don’t expect discounts. That said, if you’re not interested in kite surfing, this area offers very few other activities, so it may not be the best choice for you.
