Location, quiteness, friendly staff, amazing rooms, beauty of nature
Nothing
The staff was very welcoming and always happy to help. The location is incredible, in the middle of the tree. The owner spent the evening talking to us and was very warm. The hotel is huge and the work done to build it is incredible - it truly is a piece of art.
Extraordinary build. This house was spectacular, huge and crafted almost entirely from wood. The food was delicious and the host very welcoming. We liked the two waterfall hikes you can do on your own and the ziplining.
We used this as a stop between Tortuguero and Tenorio. As such it was perfect. But I imagine there wouldn‘t be lots to do if you stayed much longer than 2 nights.
Accommodation, very friendly staff and location
Absolutely nothing
A very special and incredible place to visit.
You will need a good car to get there, but you will not be disappointed. It is a huge tree house stretching through the native forest as it is built into the forest. Great for bird watchers and frog spotters. Great hikes between waterfalls and around local fields and villages. Very caring staff will book local tours for you and will look after you with a high level of hospitality. The rooms are very big, the bed and mattress are impressive and the mosquito net is well built and spacious! We are very grateful!
This place is...magical. I felt like Alice in Wonderland the whole time. It's the baby of a CR artist who bought the land in the 80s. His artist friends all wanted to come and visit, so he had to make more room. All by himself and his friends. And then more artists from all over came, helped with the build and left their mark everywhere- murals, sculpures, whatever. And I have this from the horse's mouth, as we had the privilege to meet both the owner and his grandson in person. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall back then...And the drive up there is amazing as well. This place is mindblowing.
Sorry guys, but the food is...not good. At all. And expensive, for what it is.
If you are up for some adventure in nature this is the place. It is back to basic facilities, but with your private waterfall and pool and a great wildlife view from the mirador. We loved it. You need to 4x4 to get there.
One of a kind
Nothing
The breakfast was amazing and it was delivered to our floor. Nixon was an amazing host, he was super helpful! We can highly recommend to stay there.
Please make sure to have a 4x4 car to get there. It is almost impossible to do it without one.
Remote location was amazing with beautiful views and waterfall on property just a short hike away. Very quiet and secluded area. Nixon was our service specialist who brought us our meals to eat on the balcony and assisted with anything we needed. Very personal service
I felt like I had a good sense of this incredible destination from other reviews and was not disappointed. It's stunning and well-worth the rugged journey. The views are breath-taking and the wildlife abundant, from the 3 toucans who greeted us outside the bedroom window on our arrival, to the howler monkeys, cows, and countless other birds and creatures. We stayed two nights with our college-aged children and planned for a rest day on the property in between, but there was too much right there to see and explore for any resting! Our horseback riding tour was a highlight-- calm and confident horses and friendly capable guides-- I highly recommend. The night tour through the jungle was fascinating for most of us, and slightly frightening for one of us. ;-) We were well taken care-of, generous hospitality, and delicious meals. Our entire Costa Rican experience was amazing, and Mirador Prendas was the top of the list.
We loved the adventure of the unpaved road and delicate bridges. It's definitely rustic and isolated, which enhanced the experience for us, but might be uncomfortable for some.
A most interesting structure with fantastic views. The place is awash with character and quirkiness! Amazing woodwork: panels, murals, sculptures
Better lighting would have been nice. As would more cushioned seating.
