Motel was on the highway. Staff member was very helpful. Bed reasonably comfortable. Meals available - quite OK and good price.
Rooms very small and able to hear everything in the hallway. Bathroom freezing. Pipe stuffed with towel.
The bar food was quite good really; breakfast was grab as you can and we opted to move on. We liked the rough and ready appearance of the place
The lady receptionist was basically rude and obviously did not want to be there as it was as much as she could do to let s get our room.
The only warmth in the bar was a log fire, and the lady again was surly in asking us to move away so she could gain access.
The room's bathroom was novel as the bath had only one tap so "no baths tonight" We did realize that you took the tap handle off the shower and could use it to operate the bath tap. Maybe the room key could have had the tap handle on it so you could use the bath??
This was value-for-money. $93 for a single room with shower/toilet. Bare essentials, no cozy comforts, but it did the job (for one night). Little storage, as shown in photos - but again, not a problem. Self-help "24/7" basic breakfast facility. Pub grub was decent (lots of people must have thought so, because the pub was busy with people needing food and drink). Only one person taking orders, hence busy, yet chatty, cheerful, helpful.
Bearing in mind that this was indeed value-for-money, I can't say there was anything I disliked. If forced to point out something, then it was the lack of water/tap in the kitchen to top up the kettle (or alternatively, an additional water container). Or perhaps that the bathroom door didn't open entirely because the sink was in the way (big bump on first attempt!). Pub was noisy with MTV-style music blasting from TV (nothing unusual, of course, for many pubs these days). (Note, though, that there was a separate, quieter dining area [and a pool table] one could retreat to (though nobody did, as far as I could tell). All things easy to bear for the price.
Old school place that took you back to the good old days. Great bar with old locals having a chinwag and food was great. Room was clean and comfortable and all you need for a warm nights sleep. The only thing that was a miss was the hot water had crapped itself and there was no hot water but that’s just a breakdown and it happens. Would stay there again in a heart beat.
Good location meals and breakfast was fine
No hot water not a good way to start the day with a cold shower plus rooms very small
Great location, and friendly service
Clean, efficient friendly service, quiet, generous to provide breakfast , good value for stopover after late departure from Adelaide
It had everything we needed
Nice place to take a break. Staff were great
Food average. And very tight room
Accommodated our late arrival after a phone call and we still got dinner by ordering over the phone. A good place to break up the Melb - Adelaide road trip. Bed was comfortable. Sunday night pizza was lovely. Good parking out the back with plenty of room for a car with a trailer.
Hole in the bathroom ceiling could do with a patch.
The person who did call me back was very polite and nice to chat. She clearly give me instructions to guide enter in hotel and stay. I was coming from Melbourne to Kangaroo Island and I had to stay for rest and I felt like I am talking with someone who already knows me and I know her. Thank you for being nice.
Everything I liked
Siaubas ne viešbutis. Atseit dvivietis kambarys, kuriame vos telpa lova. Nei vienos pakabos, tik du kabliukai ant durų, kur vienas nulūžęs. Kažkoks buvęs sandėliukas.
Nice stop over, clean, friendly and nice meals
Friendly staff, laid back atmosphere, okay food and the salad bar is a nice bonus.
Very basic room but okay for the price I suppose, bed not very comfortable but on a par with the rest of the roadhouses along the way.
Staff explained everything
Very aged.
