Floating Dreams

A nice relaxing bungalow on stilts with river views. So naturally good with very few tourists if any . The village is limited in restaurants etc but who cares when you pick a place like this. Definitely would return for the way we absorbed by the host & lovely breakfast.

Een heerlijk simpel huisje op een prachtige plek aan de rivier. Reza en zijn lieve vrouw hebben ons erg verwerwend. Wat een fijne mensen om te gast bij te zijn.

Staff, location and activities.

Floating Dreams is not in the center of Tangkahan. This place is a heaven to people who wants to stay next to nature and enjoy amazing hospitality and peace. Lady named Nita cooked as my wish a vegetarian omelette for breakfast in mornings I stayed + she brought fresh fruits and coffee. Owners Jola and Raja were really friendly and welcoming as well, also well for example Putra. They carried my big luggage up and down stairs as stairs would have been a risky walk to me with a big luggage. They got used to doing that.
First I stayed in a bigger ”house”that had a space for four people. It wasn't as good as the bungalow where I was staying the second night. First one had a half-broken fan this better one was stuck to wall (a great thing). Both and in general every room was equipped with a balcony with a mountain view. Showers were distinctive and great.
From Floating Dreams it was by walking only around five minutes to a place where you can brush and wash elephants. Also got to feed them etc. That was a great experience. Putra and I went on a trek having many experiences: jungle river tuber, small waterfall, hot fountain... . Also you would had chance to make trekking etc. Everyone was in a really good mood andthat sticked for customers.

The staff were so helpful and always willing to help& find solutions to make our stay better - the view is incredible & organizing the rainforest overnight stay with them was fab - highly recommend!

Wat een fantastische plek is dit! We verbleven hier als gezin in een ruim huis met twee slaapkamers, een woonkamer met comfortabele bank en stoelen en een kitchenette. Direct ernaast lag onze toilet en doucheruimte. Het huis is gelegen in een mooie tuin en heeft een grote veranda met o.a. twee hangmatten en uitzicht op de rivier. Aan de rivier kun je pootje baden. Even verderop is er zwemmogelijkheid. De bedden liggen prima en zijn voorzien van goede muskietennetten. De locatie is voorzien van een knus restaurantje. De kokkin kookt met duidelijk plezier voor haar gasten en het eten was erg goed. Maar waarom we deze locatie in Tangkahan vooral aanprijzen is vanwege de dagtocht die we hier hebben gedaan met twee gidsen van Flooting Dreams. Dit was de leukste, mooiste en meest avontuurlijke dag van onze 3 weken in Sumatra! In tegenstelling tot Bukit Lawang kwamen we hier slechts twee andere touristen tegen tijdens onze dagtocht. De natuur hier is bovendien erg mooi. De terugtocht over de rivier was ook geweldig o.a. door de prachtige rotswanden. Kortom; ga niet alleen naar Bukit Lawang maar kom vooral ook naar Tangkahan! We willen bij deze Flooting Dreams nogmaals bedanken voor de enorme gastvrijheid, persoonlijke aandacht en de fantastische dagtocht!

What a great stay we had by Reza and his staff. You feel very welcome as soon as you enter this place. Reza was also our guide on a jungle trekking we have made and that trekking was excellent and with full respect for nature and animals. We have seen an orang-oetan, monkeys, and elephants. After a great lunch at the river and some swimming in a hot spring we tubed back home.
